I offered to get a notarized letter from his doctor and was turned down. The way Meagan put it was that the hiring board rejected my application because I had been out of work since November 2012. While I agree it's a long time, the likelihood of my training as a terrorist when I have never had a passport is negligible. I didn't think to go to Adrian directly.
But the important thing is to get out there and get rolling.
I had wanted to start over with Stevens, and working for them isn't impossible ... just not right at the moment.
Unfortunately I got the same story from three other companies, so this ISN'T a wholly Stevens thing. ANYONE in my position should be sure to document your whereabouts in these situations.
Now whether it's fortunate or not I'll leave to you guys to decide, but Swift apparently will accept my notarized letters. And, a bonus for me, they have an "Academy" right here in Virginia ... Richmond. I won't have to do the Driver's License Cha Cha Cha.

I know all the things people say about them, but they're a start and that's what I need right now. And like I and so many others have said to people just getting interested in this life, a start is a start. So, even though I'll be wearing Swift logos and a white on white slow truck ... be kind ... I was a buzzard once. I'll be sure to follow you guys here, probably chiming in from time to time.

Oh, and for anyone who feels that my last post was Stevens bashing ... I apologize ... I really wasn't intending it to take that tone. As I'm sure you can imagine I was supremely frustrated ... until three other companies took the same position (Schneider, Werner and Roehl). Just wanted to get that out there.

 

Glad you're doing so well?? Um your attachments don't work. Sorry you feel the way you do, but do be sure to make your payments to Stevens for your schooling ... I have heard that it CAN ding your DAC if you don't.
