all depends on where you live, and if they need anybody in that area at that moment... it is the luck of timing.

That's as true a statement as has ever been made. My last Student lives in NC, was interested in Perdue Dedicated, called the DM and was told no openings at that time bit was put on a list. This was when he was in his first month of grad. Went pre alliance and after he went back to the yard to convert, on his first load out, he called the DM back to give him his new truck number and was told they had just gotten rid of someone and asked if he wanted the spot. He jumped at it and is loving it.

I will finally be able to catch my breath today once I am empty. I am down to 1:55 on my 70. In the last 8 days I have driven 3782.4 miles, 68:05 hrs, 5 loads, 2 repowers, I have driven through Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas.

Those considering a career in trucking and a job with Stevens, this was a good stretch for coming off home time. I am a solo company driver, I have been here about 2 1/2 years. I ha e built myself up to stretches like this through running hard, going where the send me, not refusing loads and making OTD.

Despite the negative you hear about Stevens, and there is definitely some negative, it is possible to he successful and make money here.

    Okay, here's the critical question:

Does Stevens fix broken APU's in a timely fashion? You know, without rerouting all over the country and with (often-broken) promises to get it done "right away?"

I don't know of one, but of you are asking because of home firm concerns, there is somewhere there to secure the truck and trailer. I don't know it, bit Stevens has a list of approved locations.

Priorities, Priorities... Very tight delivery schedule as DLD was missed, had to take 70 through Colorado which is a slow go over the mountains, show up to turn in chains at Green River and am told I have to wait for 1 1/2 hrs for the chain bank to open. Call in to let dispatch know that this may well put OTD in jeopardy as I still have to get past Vegas on a Sunday afternoon and I am running recap hours. Was told to wait to return the chains.
