KMac, we usually do better than that. But consider how many Canada drivers have been stuck with all this 'great' weather! You think Boston's been bad! We have had literally hundreds of trucks shut down for weather these last three nights. At least I see you moving again tonight.
They have done some 1 yr leases in the past. Not sure if thats still an option. Regional/Dedicated usually takes 6 months to a year to even be considered. And then it depends where you live and if there are opening on that fleet. As for leasing on regional or dedicated I did very well on Campbells dedicated until we lost that account.
It required a certain amount of expressing my discontent with the situation, to make it more of a priority but yes, they got me moving again, not far mind you but moving.
Ever wonder what causes mild mannered drivers converted to dispatchers to go off the deep end and wind up a headline in the local newspaper? Good example tonight. Driver picking up trailer in Dodge City found a clearance light out. Refused to drive ACROSS THE STREET to the Loves to have it repaired. Demanding we call out a service truck. No...this isn't a NY load. This is his load home. Guess who called three hours later to complain we were dragging our feet and now he was going to be late and would lose his load to a repower? Or the call that came in 3 minutes ago, "where is the fuel tank on the trailer?" Now you know why God gave us Jack Daniels!
My favorite quote from a driver tonight: "I've been in freezing cold so long that if you'll find me a load somewhere where it's at least 20 degrees, I'll be warm!"
