I don't have a problem driving over 600 miles. I do take more 34s but i don't mind I try to plan on taking it in a place that has options ie food. I also love to drive between 1800 and 0700 I use to work graveyard for the last several years. I was a paramedic so I'm use to long days with little or no break in between. Find what works best for you. I do make a few hundred more than my buddy by driving my schedule. I do washouts after unloading I sweep out if dry load and washout if blood or shipper required I only had to wait once for it to dry out on a chocolate load just set you refer at 85 and leave the little door open. That's what I was told.

600 miles a day was the norm for me with meat loads. And I would do that in 12 1/2 hours. Took some time to build up to that point and train the body. Closer I got to the coasts, that mileage dropped quickly, due to traffic.
Hardest part is not the setting and driving, but keeping your alertness. Getting ahead on the load is always a good thing. Gives time for that unexpected problem to be resolved.
Stevens plans the loads at 50 mph average.
And I would run low on hours, and it became a choice, to run recap, which is what I preferred to do, and that way when I got back to the meat patch, I did my 34 hr reset waiting for my next round of loads. And I spent that 34 hrs in a motel room, not at the meat plant. Gave me a chance to recharge, do laundry at a reasonable price, eat good meals.
Nothing like being a tourists for a day, stopping and taking it easy along the way to see the sights. Pull into a rest area, overlook, go for a short hike, see the area. Stop and eat at the out of the way place.flight number 919 Thanks this. -

So me and my brother are starting orientation at stevens on sunday, we leave out tonight from jacksonville to get on greyhound to be in dallas tomorrow evening. We are going to run as a team, and was just wondering if anyone had any advice for us? Also should we, if offered, participate in the Alliance Lease program?
