One of the more forgiving aspects of this industry is no one will ask you where you graduated in your class, how many times it took to pass the test or where you went to school.
Once you're done, you're a licensed driver and that's what matters.
No one will sit and review your class work, your test patterns once you're a driver.
So put it all behind, work on the areas you need to bolster, and know that once you make it....you're there!

I've been accepted for Sept 2nd at the Houston location. I did a lot of study and what sold me was the AI record as I want to learn about safety. My wife wants me to hold off until our 16 yr old is out of the house but it is so hard to find a job. I do have interviews happening but I don't want to do b2b sales any more as I'm sick of it.

Nothing to be ashamed of Flue... we can all tell by tour writings just how determined you are to do this, and if life has taught me anything in my 51 years on this planet, I this that determination has a direct cause and affect relationship to outcome. In layman's terms... Shtuff happens.

Shake it off and kick women serious trucking butt on Monday then get ready for the adventure.

Got our 1st OR2 load. From the yard to Aurora, Co due in at Mon morning. Simple 1st run, drawback was the trailer was in the shop all day and we did not get it till almost 1800. Since we both had been up since 0600 and needed to do a formal trip plan, we figured we would park it, stay on yard and head out in the am, really only lose around 2 hours of driving with PTI, fueling and scaling. So I gave us some leeway in our breaks so we should have no problem getting in on-time even losing that time. Hope it does not come back to haunt me.

Come on man, there is no way you are late on that with two drivers. 850 miles give or take, 900 at the most. You have 16 hrs tomorrow to drive between the two of you. At 50 miles an hour it will take 17 to 18 hrs... on paper. Reality is you will run about 55 avg going up there. 287 is a good road. So that cuts it down to 16 1/2 hrs to get there at 900 miles. What time is your appt?

You leave at 6 am, you are in Aurora vicinity by 22:00 you park give the truck its 8 hr break and you are ready to roll at 6am again.

Piece of cake. Adjust the times to suit your delivery schedule.

Can only do 750 max a day and can't run Midnight to 0700. Appt is 1000 with a fuel stop 25 miles from final. I don't think we will have any issues, just 1st timers jitters and not having run 287 in a truck, so not familiar with where to stop yet up there. I had to factor all the stops my DM wants us to make, which we will skip a couple, she put in 2 more than I would have. Plus not sure how my co-driver drives yet. His trip planning lacks and he worries too much on weight.

788 miles via US287.... a solo driver can make that run. Leave early sunday morning, stop in Lamar CO for dinner, take my 10, and roll into Aurora for the appointment...No rush from there, as it is off to the meat packing plants.

I have us going to Limon CO then 8 hour shutdown. Then into Aurora Mon AM. Even with fueling should get in 1 1/2 hours early.

If the flying j in limon is full when you get there, head down the road a few more miles, there is an Tomahawk Truck Stop about 25 miles out of Denver that always has parking. Dirt lot with a few bumps so take it easy in there.

You will only have two scales to pass on your way so tell your partner not to worry as long as your legal. Both are before your fuel stop so you whatever you scale at leaving the yard is as heavy as you will be. Both scales are in Colorado, one at Lamar, almost never open north bound, and the other at Limon, I70 W almost never closed. The "J" is just after the Limon Scale.
