Honestly, I would have been a bit more impressed had my recruiter done more then fly through the script when we talked. I did ask some direct and pointed questions about some other intangibles about the company that may not have been covered in the recruiting packet and got a one line email reply. I will say that I am still completely comfortable in joining the organization based on my own independent research and because of a lot of the people in this forum who take time to answer questions every day.

No matter what the recruiter might tell you, you won't earn any extra $$ by unloading.Curb, flue and Corporal_Clegg Thank this.

Was into the Dallas area (not the yard!) recently and had coffee with my old friend who now works inside. Was there to get my QC fixed. He was telling me that at any given time 25-30% of the QC's are not working. Many are minor things that a reboot handles, but around 15% are crapped out (like mine).
Been thinking of where I want to finally pull the plug and retire. I'll be 67 next May and the time is creeping up fast!
So while I was hanging out in San Antonio after doing Will a favor and ran this thing down, got a call:
Some yahoo decided he didn't want a 2600 mile load because it was heavy and he'd have to do the 50 gallon shuffle, so would I do it?
(I may be old, but I'm not stupid!)
I'm now heading up I-5 towards Oregon.
So I may take a couple days off and check out this part of the state. SW Oregon coastal area.
Everyone stay safe and keep the rubber side down.Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -

Well I finally broke my cherry going over the GW. Managed to avoid north of jersey and east of PA for over a year but sometimes ya just gotta say WTF. Good Ol schneider wouldnt let me over to hit the major deegan and gave me a youre number one as he was along side of me tried slowing down he would do the same tried speeding up same ####. So kept going up the 95 and popped a call to safety to get me turned around all worked out good and am now siting at hunts point. I wouldnt say its so bad Ive been in a lot of midwest truck stops that seem worse than here.
flue and Emulsified Thank this. -

The last time In went there I missed the exit also, so went in the back way... the way every other truck goes there, 895 to Bruckner, nicely signed,;easy to follow, three trucks in front of me, a couple more behind, actually I thought it a much easier and less confusing route... HOWEVER Mark did not seem to think so when he called me the next day asking why I went that way and basically telling me do not do it again.Crazy_Aardvark and flue Thank this.
