    Oxnard, Fozzy, Oxnard.

That is where my first pick was on the three pick run...

Now I can go back to sleep. Ever notice how this unimportant crap always seems to come to you in the middle of the night?

I don't miss Melissa's, Ralphs or my favorite of favorites....Target in Cedar Falls.
For getting in and out, Ralphs is as bad as it gets, but I give it a couple more points since they couldn't tell time if their lives depended on it.
But my worst (funniest?) experience was Target, who rejected an entire load of Fuji apples I had brought from Wenatchee (just after the tidal wave that caused the meltdown at the nuclear plants in Japan) because they were sure they were radioactive. (they were Japanese, after all!) They had called the FBI, Homeland Security and accused me of bringing radioactive product to their distribution center.
The worst part was trying to convince produce and Kipp this was the real reason my load was being rejected and I was being chased off the property (after sitting there 8 hours and having no time on my logs!)...thank goodness for paper logs!
Now I get to listen to safety try and corral a driver in his underwear running around the truck stop, another driver demand a repower because he 'doesn't haul pork' (against his religion) and yet another driver that is more than 300 miles off course 'because Jill told me'!
I don't envy any of you that are fighting those storms in the intermountain north. Be careful and stay safe.

I was living in Germany still during Chernobyl and remember going to the airport in Frankfurt not long after to pick up a friend of mine. A LOT (Polish) Airlines plane was parked way away from the terminal and the men in white suits were wanding each passenger and crew member with a Geiger counter to see if they were too radioactive to enter the Federal.Republic. a few days later I had a load that delivered near the East German Border and they were doing the same with all trucks entering from the east.

But hey, there were some good jokes that came out of it... What has two legs, feathers and glows in the dark? Chicken Kiev... Did you hear about the Swedish kids? Blond eyes and blue hair?

OK you can stop chuckling now... bit they were funny at the time.

So I am not feeling real good about this load I am on... Smithfield at one end, Walmart at the other. Anyone see a problem here?

Send a running late as soon as you know you can not make your delivery on time. I wonder if they would have appreciated the irony if I sent it in immediately after acknowledging the load assignment?

I'll take ANY place that Stevens delivers to over Ben E. Keiths in Albuquerque. Makes Ralph's in Compton look like Disneyland.

Worst one that I remember was Kraft in Bethlehem, PA at night. No lights in dock area so its pitch dark and no room to swing the nose around. Even the yard dog couldnt get into the door to my right. Once I got the green light I told him to get out of my way and Ill leave so that he had more room. He agreed! :D

My delivery time was 45 minutes ago. I am still waiting in Tar Heel for the load. Unreal.
