I drop this other half the load in N Platte Wally World DC at 0630. The nearest TK dealer is Grand Island or Chyenne. Depends on which direction they dispatch me.
At least I can get some sleep tonight. I've been running on 3-4 hrs a night for the last 3 and it's beginning to catch up.
Delerious...before you ask for a new DM, express your dissatisfaction to Major. He can apply a lot of pressure on your behalf.
Today ended up good for me. Found the last spot here at the Loves. Came in from the blind side. Didn't want to chance going around for a better setup since there were several other trucks lurking, so as tired as I was, I gave it a shot.
One try, in the hole like a pro...just like I knew what I was doing.
Ya gotta love those nights!

Don't jump ship when you've already got things rolling. -
Hey nomad, what's that API doing? Give me a detailed description as you can.

Nomad, I hope your father-in-law is ok. I am glad to see that stevens has been supportive of you. Family ALWAYS comes first.
-
So sorry to hear about your Father In Law. Having already helped my wife through the loss of her father I can relate to the reality check involved. Good luck to you and your family in this difficult time, and of course we're all praying for a full recovery for him.
-
Here is wishing the best for you and your family, Nomad.
Yeah, Emulsified, gotta love those times. One of the regular Kraft places on my route you have to do a blindside to dock. I got major lucky and setup just right and backed in so smooth. Hope I make it look that easy next time!
I'm currently on hometime and sitting on my bed with the A/C cranked and the stereo blaring after a looooooong, hot shower and a homemade meal. World makes sense again.
lol
So, this fleet is CRAZY! You sure get the miles, but OMG, do you ever have to deal with some bizarre scheduling! The worst part is having to overnight at the receivers. You run so hard each day, stopping for a shower is out of the question, and sleeping in Kraft parking lots means no shower. So, I went an entire week without showering! UGH. Maybe when I get more experience running these lanes I can find a way to stop en route or leave a Kraft to shower a couple of times a week at least.
It also makes it hard to eat right. I prefer a salad bar a couple times a week, but last week, no veggies other than a FlyingJ deli pack thingy.
The availability of Kraft products is also a terrible temptation. Ritz, Triscuit, Oreos, Cheese in a can, CheezIts, NutterButters, Sugar Wafers, Nilla Wafers, Chips Ahoy, all that kind of stuff is laying around all the time for free. UGH I could end up 400 pounds and out of a job for medical so easy doing this fleet!
Plenty miles, but plenty frustrations and evil temptations too. So far okay though.
Hope everyone is having a good time so far. Stay between the lines! -
I love salads too. Hence the refer in the sleeper. I buy a large bag of mixed greens, plus cukes, tomatos, shredded carrots. Then each night I want a salad, I cut up the cukes, tomatoes and mix a large one and enjoy.
Tonight, while sitting here in Dakota City, I couldn't stand the whimpering from the truck next to me so I made a very large salad so he and his student could eat too.
All I had was Zesty Italian dressing.
You'd of thought I'd given them gold.
My DLD isn't until 1130 tomorrow and as of 2300 tonight, they hadn't started on my load. So it looks like I get a reset again.
Where are those resets when you REALLY need them?!
Nomad, hope everything works out with your FiL. Make sure you hug your wife extra. She needs it.
Well now that my APU works, this trip to VA won't be bad. -

So I took the plunge today. 3 weeks at HCC in houston and off to dallas. Just completed Day 1. Part of me is nervous, part anxiety, part excited. Cleared the physical background check and MVR out of the gate.
A little nervous that safety or somebody is going to come yank the rug out form under me over an accident 3 years ago that was supposedly deemed unpreventable and minimal property damage.
But if all goes well I am looking forward to that bus trip to Dallas. I owe alot to this thread in helping me decide on Steven's. Put alot of fears to rest.
Be safe out there.
