Question on the hearing. I've seen, in some sites, that you need to be able to hear a forced whisper at 3-5 feet. I have normal hearing in my left ear but 80% loss in my right. Can't use a hearing aid due to nerve damage. Would this disqualify me from a. CDL, b. Stevens employment, c. OTR in general? Never thought to ask til I saw somebody mention hearing.

Hey everybody! Just figured I would do an update while I had some spare time. School has been going well, all my instructors say I am definately ready to test out and graduate. I have 3 weekends left. Well, got a call from my boss at my current job this morning. He says he no longer wants me at the office to finish out my 3 weeks of work on my notice. So he said he is letting me go but paying me a severance package for my last 3 weeks. Cool! SO I call the Director of Training at the school and arrange to go to school the rest of the week and test out on Saturday and Sunday. So I now graduate Sunday! Decide to give Denise a call in recruiting to see if I could bump up my start date to the 24th of October, but couldn't get a hold of her. Oh well try again tomorrow! I am loving how things are working out. Can't wait to get out to Dallas and get this thign started! Drive safe everybody and hope to see you all out there sometime!

Sinister, Denise may have had the day off today, Columbus Day. Good luck with it.

Walk, around the truck stop, walk down the street into town for a decent meal. Subway is not that healthy. Food safety is a big issue with Subway. (but they have a great ad campaign to make people think they are healthy) Watch what you eat, drink plenty of water, one can eat healthy even at a truck stop...just watch what you order, and you don't have to eat the entire oversized portions.
Small steps everyday will make a big difference in ones health. Park as far away from the doors, and walk. I go exploring, walking around towns, countryside. Have light dumbbell weights in the truck for resistance when it is too cold or hot to walk.
No truck stop has an exercise room. I wouldn't want to use it anyway... shutters to think just how nasty one would be. -
DFW Thanks this.
