America's Best (definitely not the best - :biggrin_25523:, but just make the best of it as your only there a short time)
The worse part for me was the dam shuttle every morning, especially the last day when everyone has all their gear (since they are hopefully leaving that day).

Yes, you will typically have a roommate unless you get lucky and he/she doesn't show up OR maybe not in the same class (so they leave early etc)

    Thanks Ryyus, one more question.

I read somewhere on here that they check your BMI. How tough are they on that? Im overweight myself and my BMI is like 47 i think. Will they boot me out for that?

I am testing out for my CDL tommorow and I have been conversing with Stevens about employment. Their webpage does not list what you need to take to orientation, can someone point me in the right direction?

Everyone is so worried about the hotel. You will only be there a few days, and only to sleep. Then it is into a truck, a MUCH smaller space for 5 weeks with a stranger. Priorities people...don't sweet the unimportant stuff.

Hello from the wonderful world of the Meat Patch....Dodge City Kansas this time. Dropped my trailer, am out of hours for the day, and on my 70, but will be able to run hard for the next 3 days...will only need 2 of those to make this "great" 3 dropper which finals on Saturday. Can't really get ahead enough on it to get a repower, Unless someone wants to go home to North Carolina for the weekend.

Well I'm doing a 34. Freight is slow today, so I told my DM to let me sit.
I'm in San Diego. Decided to call it home time, so I can enjoy a beverage or two with friends.
Have a son and his wife here. Been trying to get together, but it's like the old song..
"...when we gettin' together dad, I don't know when...but we'll have a good time then, son..."
Foggy this morning, be warming up to about 83.
    Jeez I love this area!

This will be different the last company I was with TransAm out of Olathe Kansas. They were no a ltl carrier. Reefer company Hauled meat east and a lot of beer and whatever west. Cookies out of Chicago once. Guess I better get my backing cleaned up on the range. Saturday is the big day. This is actually getting exciting, I am truly looking forward to the career this time around. All things that held me back before dealt with and I feel like my head is in the right place this time. Looking forward to meeting you folk face to face sometime.

CDL in hand, no test. You will be given a skills assessment, backing on the hill, a short drive around the industrial area around the yard, and a quick on and off of the loop.

My load was ready 6 hours for before the DLD, so here I am tonight in the Middle of No where southern Missouri. And no hours left again on my log book:biggrin_2558:. Saw a total of one stevens truck today, and that was at the petro in Joplin, parked in the middle of the drive, no other trucks around.

Slow freight works for visiting family. Cats in the Cradle a great song. The job is a hassle....

Well got my load assignment tonight. Three picks up in the mid valley, then over to Terrell, TX.
    Seems pretty nice.
Had a great time. Saw old neighbors and friends. Finally hooked up with my son for a short while...before he had to go to work.
Had lunch with my old sales manager and an old business partner.
Both are jealous of what I'm doing because there is so much less stress.
Looking forward to heading out in the morning. Probably leave out of here at 0400 so I can miss most of the LA traffic as I head up north.
Got a brand new 70 to start the trip with. WhooHoo!
