Ok... So I haven't posted on this thread in a while...
This past week was a long one. It started in Cali. Where I delivered in Stockton last Sat. Got to visit with a few friends while in Ripon... Wound up sitting in Ripon until Monday morning when I headed down to Canuta Creek for my first of two pickups. Was told it was a first come first serve, turns out it was an appointment only. Got there at 6:45am, appointment time turned out to be 7pm... Great... This place is 25miles from the closest convince store & 30 from the closest restaurant... Finally get loaded # 10:30pm and head to my next p/u in Lost Hills, my appointment there was for 9pm... Get there # 11:30pm and they tell me they're closed for the night. Head out to my truck and one of the shipping guys ask me when my appt was, tell him and he looks it up. It's only 8 pallets, so go ahead and back in and he'll load me. So # 12:00 I was loaded and gone... Drove over to Kingman Az and took my 10hr break... This load was going to the Dallas area... Got up and headed out Tuesday afternoon, drove on over to Santa Rosa NM for my next brk. While on my way made a stop in Flagstaff AZ (12 degrees at the time), on the way back out to the trk I step on the only patch of ice in the parking lot. Did a dance that would make a breakdancer jealous, then fell down and went boom... The result was a lump the size of a baseball on the right side of my right knee (swelling went down later) which is still sore, pulling something in my lower back (which is also still sore), pulled something in my right arm, and hit my left shoulder... Sleeping was not enjoyable that day, when it happened I was fine, by the time I had got to Santa Rosa I was getting stiff and everything was sore...
When I got up I called my dm, they had another truck with a load that wasn't going to be able to make his delivery so they wanted me to repower him. No problem, his load is the one I had wanted to get out of Cali anyway... So he shows up & we swap trailers and off to Chicago I head. Made it over to Joplin MO where I took my break. Left there and made it into Chicago before 7am on Friday. My appt was for 11am, but I was the first person there and the first truck empty for the day. Pulled over and got my brk in while there at the receiver.
Next load was picking up in Appleton WI going to Atlanta for a Sunday evening delivery... Great, get to go by the house and maybe see a friend along the way...
I made it down to Indy for my brk... Got up Sat afternoon and headed on down to the ATL... Got home about 3am, made my delivery Sunday night, took the trailer to kraft and headed to the house... Totally out of hours... Picked up 0 hrs last night, and will p/u 2.5 hrs tonight. So am doing a 34 hr reset at the house, so I will have a fresh 70 hrs when I go back on duty Tuesday afternoon...

For the record, from Monday-Sunday I used all 70 of my available hrs & drove a total of 3575 miles... Cali-Chicago-Atlanta...

Am now sitting at Ole Stogie's enjoying a cigar... :biggrin_25525:

Hey no problem, love the enthusiasm.. Just remember, I can get on maybe once a day, when I stop to start my 10 hour break. If I am not too tired from 11 hours of driving....

Others only check in every few days, or once a week. The rest of the time we have a job to do... one you want to do.

Now if I am down for a day or a 34, I tend to post alot.

This weeks adventure... dispatched onto a load in laredo on sunday, that there was no way I could deliver to Oregon by Thursday with my log book. But I accepted the load, and got out of laredo. Informed DM I was running late, and he says okay, will repower on tuesday when you get up on I40. Okay, I will be in Milan NM, Petro when you come to work.

Tuesday morning dawns with me pulling into the petro, need a trailer tire replaced, a questionable tire in laredo, now bad enough they will approve replacing it, before handing this trailer off to another driver, and send in my running late message again. MY DM acts surprised that I am out of hours for the day, and can not make the load. It is now 4pm, and still no repower... I wonder sometimes what goes on back in dallas. Oh well, got my truck serviced, laundry done, shower, cleaned the inside of the truck up...
