    Yup, Smokr is doing fine.
Sitting at the house, watching it snow. Been a most bizarre week. Been doing runs where I usually stop at the receiver for breaks, so haven't been online much at all.
Basically taking huge loads of uncooked cookie dough to rail in Chicago then bringing mixed crackers and cookies back to Ohio, rinse and repeat.
Good miles and timing. Until I hit Groveport and there weren't any empty trailers. Did a reset and still no empty. Got a different load and hit the rail in Chi-town, then to Aurora for an empty.
    No empties.
Did another reset. Still no empty. Got a different load headed to near Groveport for Monday, so I'm home tonight and tomorrow.
Still no fenced area where I can park the truck and get to it on Sundays, so I'm going to be sent home Friday night/Saturday mornings and lock the truck up in Fort Wayne and head out Monday morning. Long weekend, shorter paycheck, but I'll have real downtime at least.
I've had my shower, got the computer up and running, and pizza is on the way.
Hope you all are staying safe and having fun. Will post a longer one maybe tomorrow, right now I'm still catching up on emails and other forums and waiting for my large meat-lovers to arrive.
Keep the rubber on the asphalt!

Hunts point, Jetro's, in brooklyn, bronx, and many locations out on long island. Manhattan meat market. Also pick up on long island. I sure hope the astoria place is finally closed...
In Clearfield PA tonight, but I can't make an early delivery sunday, as they stop receiving at noon, and I cant get there until 1300...
Glad to hear you are still hanging in there Smokr.

It used to be when I came off home time, I would get a shuttle run from Tyson Lexington NE, to Ottawa IL.. When I went by Ottawa today, NOT one Stevens Trailer on the lot... Used to always be 8 to 10 trailers there. The lot was full of Prime Trailers. I won't miss that run, well the waiting for a load out that is.

Quess I shouldnt have said anything about the miles here at stevens in the other thread. It has not been a good week for me.In fact it will be my worst mileage week I have had since I started with the company.Im not a happy camper at this point.I will work out to less than a minimum wage burger cooker at Mcdees for the last seven days.Of course my manager will hear it on monday. And probably Bonnie also.Sent a message on the qualcomm stating such, while sitting in Plainview,up pops a load five minutes later, doesnt pick up for at least 34 hrs, lol.not what I had in mind.Pretty much cements my 2000 mile week.Well at least its a good load.I quess they thought it would make me happy. They just didnt think about the part about sitting for 34 hrs to pick it up.Im gonna go home next week and make some decisions on this lease gig.Ive done the math and I can make as much being a company driver w/out the liabilities.Gonna have to give it some thought.I back this lease thing, and its been pretty good for me.But more and more Im starting to see some weeks like this when I run solo.I dont know.I think they have changed dispatch around, and the dispatchers that knew my truck I never hear from anymore. The Lisa girl in north texas, well dont get me started on her.Lets just say she is not my favorite person in the world.I hope everything is better for everybody else.

Have walked the streets of Flatonia TX this afternoon. A walk back in time for sure.
Last truck stop before Brenham where I drop part of the load tomorrow morning, then head for Houston.
Of course, all I can think of is that old song from the Marx Brother's movie, Duck Soup, "Freetonia".
arrived for my second pick yesterday morning at the Americold in Phoenix. It was closed until monday, so this receiver in Brenham will be short 100# of meat.
    c'est la vie!
Almost time to schedule a trip home. Taxes have to be filed. Probably wait another three weeks or so until the threat of snow lessens.
My brother has been riding with me the last week or so. Thinks he wants to be a trucker. I think after a couple weeks of this, he may opt to be a chicken plucker instead.
    Well stay safe everyone.

Coming off my first hometime tomorrow. Its been great being home. Felt like a whirlwind tour trying to get around to see friends and family. Wish I had a few more days, but its time to get the wheels rolling again.

Setting today in I think smoker territory... Groveport OH at Kraft. Dropped my trailer, no empties of course, and dispatch can not figure out what to do with me...
I think these new dispatch regions have really screwed up the dispatching. No preplans, set hours waiting on a load.. messages, and phone calls are doing no good... They know I am headed to Kraft, to drop, why not preplan my next load out of this place? or is that thinking ahead?
