Went thru three load assignments today before we found one that works.
I gave up my trailer yesterday to a local so it could be delivered (out of hours). He didn't have an empty. Went looking for one today but couldn't find one.
So I have a campbells order to pick up tonight at 2300 and head for ol' Wallyworld in Cheyenne.
Good news is the last two days of this blitz I've been parked.
I'll be on the night shift these next couple nights.
wooohooo!

but Campbells loads those trailers the day before.. I know, as they would not let me have any empty after delivering to them... they needed all 5 empties for the next days loads, as they load them 24 hours ahead of schedule.
Made it through all 3 days of the blitz, without an inspection
Sure was fun watching the trucks that did not pull into the Nevada Inspection station north of Las Vegas... The DOT where all out on the highway, with trucks pulled over, expect for the one standing by the stop sign... if you stopped for the stop sign he waived you on by. And Cajon was CLOSED, nobody home.
Setting in Ontario tonight, 28 miles to my first 5am drop, then 2 more that are just 12 miles apart. should take all day -
If today is thursday, I must be in Utah.
Thru two POE's and just waved by. Didn't see one fleet truck being inspected. Just small companies and independents.
Leave out of here in about an hour for Cheyenne. Be there about 0800, but load isn't due until saturday sometime. Hopefully they'll let me drop. This is a non refregerated load, so I should be OK.
Glad I'm in the 'cold' area of the country. Got a feeling tho, the'll send me next to Lexington, then east.
c'est la guerre, ### a la guerre!
stay cool everyone. -
HAHA, Im in Cheyenne myself. Sittin at SAP bros exit 370 by the KW dealer.
Got the truck fixed tonight. They guys at this KW are Awesome. Turns out it was a small hose on the left side of the engine. It only leaked when hot and presurized. They couldnt find a hose anywhere tonight cause it was to late, so was gonna have to get a hotel room. Then one of the mechanics said he had a friend he thought may have one. He called the guy and went and picked it up. Thats great service right there. Saved me 55 bucks.
Goin to sleep, hope for a decent load outta here in the AM. -
What are the sleeper size for the KW T-2000? Are they the 60 inch, or the 75 inch, because the web site states double wide...which is true?
-
the upper bunk is the same length, but is 'cot' size. a bit narrower ... 26" -
well, made it to Cheyenne, dropped my load at Wallyworld and am now going to catch some z's before heading to Lexington tonight. DLD of 0204. Figure I should make it there about 0157.
Then off to Philly and Joisey. -
Got up this morning, started the truck and it shut down saying cant read coolant level. Head back to KW and they say its a jumper cable and they have to order it in overnite sat delivery. Hopefully get out of here tommorow morning.

Well, if you're in Dallas, prepare for severe weather this week. Record highs, tornadoes and hail, maybe a cold front with freezing rain.
How do I know?
I'm heading to the yard.
Every time I've been there it's either snowed seven inches or we got hail or severe weather of some sort. I know it's not uncommon in Texas, but I'm coming home so to speak, so batten down the hatches!
My baby is sold, so they want me down there to swap to another truck. I'm really hoping for another older truck as I don't want Elogs.
We will see, I guess.
So if you're on the yard after this weekend, look for 10070 for the first day or so, I should still be on board. Or look for the heavy guy with a denim baseball hat and glasses. Say hi and we can chat a bit. We can see how my trucker's story ability is coming along. I used to be good at writing a little fiction, keeping in practice doing logs. LOL
Picked up in Indy today, now at the IL state line on 70 watching a lightning storm tear up the town and rocking with the truck in the wind.
Hope you all are doing well. See some interesting stories again.
Myself I never even got looked at during the DOT harassment week. I mean, DOT safety blitz. Scaled three times, but scaled and slid beforehand. Kept the truck clean looking, so I drew less interest.
So, see ya on the yard or back up around Chicago/Indy/Columbus after this week. -
Good luck on the truck, smoker.
you'll either get a 700 or a 589, (they can't give those away right now!)
Ran into a BLUE 2011 589 in Lodi the other day. He said there were four of them. For whatever reason, the company ordered in 4 blue and a bunch of black.
I'm in Des Moines this morning starting my 10. Off again this evening.
Tomorrow...Dayton!
Ya gotta love the graveyard shift.
buona notte
