Me I would have been home by now...
Have always been dispatched just before the 48 hours are up to start collecting layover pay.
Hope you get it solved, and Steven's solves the server problems they have been having since sunday.

Looks like everybody's having some sort of trouble this past week.

I'm in the middle of the 7th hour of an 18+ hour unload at Walgreen's (P & G makeup load...will NEVER accept one of these again). At least the receiver has half a heart and allows me to bobtail off the property for two hours at a time...every 6 hours if needed.

Picked the load up in Joppa, MD. after getting empty in NJ. Loaded on Friday, delivery appointment for 1400 today. 810 loaded miles. :biggrin_25513: I called my DM to discuss this load before acknowledging it. He said it's slim pickins on the East Coast right now and it's the best they could do.

Weird thing is the last 4-5 weeks have been great! Last week I took a one-pick produce load from Salinas to Cedar Falls, IA. Then picked up a meat load in Waterloo to Huntington, NJ. 3136 loaded miles. The weeks prior to that were at least 2700 mile weeks. Then after getting empty on Thursday morning in NJ, I sit and wait until Friday morning for a load. Picked up Friday afternoon at 1500. Ran hard and got here to Mount Vernon, IL on Sunday morning. Put in a repower request as to make myself more useful but nothing. Then I get here today to find out it's gonna be "at least an 18 hour unload". Thank goodness I'm holding onto 800 and some odd miles from two weeks ago so I can at least make a truck payment this week.

And, I'm supposed to be home (Sacramento) by Wednesday the 29th to go on a family camping trip for 4 days. After reading Emulsified's horror story of trying to get home, I'm starting to fear that I'm gonna have to miss out. Gosh I hope not.

Glad to hear everyone's doing fairly well. What fun would this job be if we didn't have BS weeks like this last one to bring us all back down to Earth, eh? :biggrin_2559:

Sitting in the Winco dock in Boise right now. Two drop load I repowered yesterday afternoon. Second drop is in Portland. So I'll do my hometime in Portland this time.
    Being homeless has it's advantages.
TLea...there was a mix up sunday (surprise!).
Told the dispatcher I was heading home on my own dime and he told me, "under NO circumstances can you do that. You MUST stay put!"
    "Why? I'm Alliance."
    "You must not move. period!"
Because of that, the company decided they had to pay me to Boise, so they found this repower for me instead.
What the heck? Now I'm paid to go home.

Read the first 78 pages of this thread in the last couple days. I go to school in Denver on the 18th of July, and out to Dallas 3 weeks after that. I'm pretty nervous, trying to make a better life for my family than I had. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there a way to request a trainer?

Stevens pays fopr all reefer fuel no matter if Alliance or not.

No, you cant request a certasin trainer, sorry.

Summer workshop has started. Was all cleared yesterday and they hit me with it. Had to do that this morning before I could leave.

I have had that very same discussion with dispatch... but then I called safety to go over my deadhead talk, 920 miles to get home for a graduation.
Dispatch seems to forget, we are NOT employees that they can tell to do anything.
Glad it worked out for you. I am not as forgiving or understanding with dispatch.

Setting in Chandler AZ, (phoenix) today... another hot windy and dry day. Headed to Stockton for a Friday morning delivery. Works with my hours.

got all those messages yesterday about the server problems, and that they would inform us when it was resolved... still no message about it being resolved... the communication skills in Dallas are so lacking again.
