The in house clinic is closed. I noticed they were shuttling a bunch of students to a clinic off site and asked and was told that Stevens had canceled the contract with Concentra. Not sure how this is gonna play out. Anybody else have any info?

I know they have been looking at upgrading the entire system. This may be the catalyst. -
Oh, one other thing. They are pulling all the Hub odometers off and were going by the actual Odometer reading now
-
Never understood why these company's used Hubmeter's.
The company that makes them says on their website, there is a possible variance of up to 2% in the reading's.
Every truck i drove, the speedo was way closer to actual mileage than the hubmeter. And this is what they use to calculate the variance of your pay.
If you start off 2% over and then addd the natural overage when using HHG mileage, the driver get's the shaft.
These hubmeters were originally intended for use on off highway equipment that didn't have a speedo to keep up with maintance intervals. -

no more dr feel good... I won't miss him.

another though occured to me, The new doctor was also invested in the sleep lab that stevens was sending everyone to.. a conflict of intrest, and maybe someone called them on it.
Also, how do you tell Mr Cheney he can't work for stevens anymore, due to a heart attack. I can see him not able to drive a semi anymore, but a company car?
Just putting limited information together. -
Hey I am new to this thread, well sorta- I have been reading this thread for just about a year religiously. I am set up to start the Stevens training program in September, at least I thought I was. I have been bugging the recruiters message line with messages, so far no reply. When I first applied I was contacted the very next day, and was told it I was accepted and would be welcome to attend in September, just to call a week ahead. After reading all the horror stories about Stevens on this website I have written out pages of questions for the recruiting office. I have wanted to truck for years, and I am more than ready now- money is keeping me here in Oregon until Sept, I have a family and needed to save to get them through during my
training phase. I have learned so much about the trade through this thread, I am excited to get Started on the road. I am not discouraged by the negative posts, I am prepared to " put in my time as a pee on". I just want to drive!!! No crybaby here!! I hope to get to know more of the drivers employed by Stevens currently.
Any new drivers out there?
What is the experience in Stevens academy like right now- any current students want to give me a heads up on staff- the goods and the bads?
What kind of miles are you guys getting currently?
Crazy excited to be a part of this trade- get used to seeing the name, I am here to stay!!!
Thanks for your time and hope to hear back from some drivers!!!
What is the deal with this Verifiable income stuff. I have been laid off twice in 3 years- however I was in college full time throughout. Is this going to create a problem for me when it is time for hire? I asked the recruiter but she really knew nothing of the matter. Any new drivers been hired regardless of making less than 13000 per year for three years. I actually may even average around that, it will be close though. Why is this stuff not disclosed to new students. Are we stuck with the bill for school if Stevens chooses not to hire us- to my understanding its Drive and pay off schooling cost. Is there a possibility good students could do all this for nothing when hire time comes?Last edited: Jun 22, 2011

Sitting in Eloy,at the Flying Hook, picking up a produce load in Nogales in the morning, only one pick, the produce gods like me today.Been a good week,4500 miles for me and the co-driver.Tlea I didnt realize Cheney had a heart attack.Alot of changes going on right now.Lets hope none of them affects how things are going for all of us.Having trouble with my tanks equalizing properly on my Pete.Tough to play the fuel game to your advantage when you dont know what your tanks are gonna do.They tried to fix it last time on the yard and made it worse. And the guy left a four inch gap between my two skirts covering my tank, really.Should have heard the conversation I had with Edward on the phone, lets just say it wasnt a pleasant one.Im not a mechanic, but Im pretty sure I could tell that a four binch gap between the skirts is not proper installation.WTF.And the guy just left it like that after installing it.Didnt notice it til I got readt to leave the yard.Everybody be safe.

If you were a full time student and can show that, it shouldnt be a problem. Hope it all goes well for you. I started last sept myself. Its been a bumpy ride at times, but overall its been pretty good. Im happy I came to Stevens.
