Well, picked up last night, delivered this morning, just enough time to come down and pick up next load and shut down for the night. Going to Fairfield OH then deep into the Ohio backwoods for a pickup going to Chicago tomorrow. Preplanned for a pickup nearby for a run to Columbus. Should be near or over 1,500 miles by Wednesday night.
While dropping in Aurora, got trapped by a nasty little storm. It only lasted a few minutes, but it blew trees over and limbs off others. Power is out all over the place, or it was when I left earlier.
Here's hoping it's clear and mild tonight! Hard to see storms coming at night unless they have plenty of lightning.
Be safe! -
I wonder if Cowboy is still there. He was infamous for his radio. He had so much additional equipment (amps, etc) installed on the truck that it took him 2 hours to dismantle it all when they finally forced him out of his T600!

I'm in OR2 right now. I will look for you on the yard. -
FYI for those that don't know.
Bill Cheney is back. Decided that he needed to come back to work so he could take it a little easier. That ranch stuff was killing him. -

Emusified, on the yard all week? taking trainer class?
Well I am back to work, and what a fun start it was.. I was bobtail in cheyenne, where I took my home time this past weekend. Left my loaded dropped trailer at Wally world. We all know that dispatch requires us to have an empty before they will dispatch us, which at times makes no sense... more on that in a moment...
So I bobtail back into Wally World, and have to wait for them to finish unloaded a trailer for me... Get the trailer, and I just want to thank the driver that did NOT do his job and dropped that trailer at Wally world with a nice aluminum wheel that was black, with oil and road grime.. and missing bolts in the hub... It still had some residual oil in it, so in goes my breakdown message, and then the 20 mile drive to the TA... After arriving at the TA I am dispatched, onto a pallet load from Wally World to Garden City KS, on a preloaded trailer... The Turkeys at dispatch strike again... Now why couldn't they just dispatch me on that load this morning? while I was bobtail? oh yea they can't think ahead....
So 5 hours later, the trailer is back together, and I roll the 20 miles back to Wally world, where the fun continues... and nobody at Stevens thinks I should be compensated for the 40 miles, or the time to get that trailer fixed.
The new lady at the window does not understand that I brought an empty in, to pick up a pallet load... 45 minutes later, A supervisor finally figures it all out, and I get my paperwork and head for Garden City... at least I am getting paid loaded miles to get to the meat patch... But since my 14 hour clock started with that breakdown call, I ran out of hours before reaching garden city, shut down in Lamar CO...
Had a good breakfast, and now I am at the pallet place waiting my turn to be unloaded...
Was told by Wally World they have 10 stevens loads a week to this place.
Glad to her Bill Cheney is back. -
Here all week...or close to it.
Well I listened to Cat's offer. Only another 185.00 per week.
If I remember right, my response was, "you're on drugs!"
really.
A bit of bantering and we parted friends.
Keeping my present truck of course.
Hotter than hades here in Dallas. Hope I get dispatched to a cooler climate...maybe the Yukon?
Remember David that headed up training? Well he's now night safety.
Lots of shuffling going on around that place.
Actually, I picked a good week to be here. My DM is on vacation this week.
Only three things my truck needs are a PM, a tail light and a tire fixed (slow leak).
Hope they get to it soon. I'd like to be out of here by friday.
Don't know if I mentioned it, but got a perfect score in Compliance this time. Mother was out speaking with the recruits at the moment and when she saw me in the hall later she commented, "you should be glad I wasn't in there. Next time I'll do your review."
I smiled and told her thank you.
So summer workshop tommorrow and hopefully the doc for my BP check, and I'm done.
Stay cool everyone. -
One that would make you not one cent more in pay...
One heck of a deal there....
Made my delivery to R&R pallet, along with 10 other stevens trucks all from the front range... and now we are all setting and waiting for load assignments, got mine, DLD the 14 at 1700, picking up in Holcomb, now that is some good planning...
Ran into a driver that I did 02 with, and he finally got a load, picking up in liberal, with a DLD the 14 at 1500....
And there are 3 more Stevens trucks pulled in this evening, with loads for tomorrow, for the pallet plant. Looks like Stevens has found a way to not run the trucks empty to the meat patch, but they sure do need to tighten up the planning, setting for a 34 right after 4 days off sucks....
So I will spend my actual day of birth, in the hot town of Garden City Kansas... Now how old am I, 35 or 53 I can't remember... -
Memory is the second thing to go...
