Typical, you turn a simple a question into something its not, no I don't get miles, alls I was saying is why would you wanna sit on the yard and not make money. You old timers can't wait tilll all of you retire. Can't ask a simple question.

What stuff to get off the yard? safety lane for the truck, talk to the safety supervisor, compliance review, quarterly workshop. Can all be done in 1/2 a day.
Now if you are on a short medical card, then see the clinic...
But as Emuslified said, what is the difference, on the yard or in a truck stop... Can't legally drive all the time.

They still have some senior driver perks...
Don't have to do all the talks, just ack (acknowledge) the load and go...
My safety talks always take about 5 minutes... since I keep my nose clean

My load was ready a full day and a half early, so I picked it up and went.. going to porkies, and I have always been able to delivery early, not this time... I always call ahead, and get told to bring it in, not this time, was told they don't have room in the coolers for my load, but they have to take it on Sunday... his words...
So I stopped at Carlisle PA, to maybe get a repower before sunday morning...
I was called twice on the phone this morning to help with repowers, but I was already out of ohio, and into PA, and both loads are headed for upstate New York... #### my luck...

Well so much for my truck rolling.Picked up this short 500 mile run today and about 200 miles in a DPF light and a check engine light comes on.No biggy Ill pull over and do a regen.Wont allow me to.Sometimes if your fluids are low it wont allow you to regen.Check those and they are fine.Turn the truck back on,and now I have three lights on,a stop engine light is now on.Look at all the pretty lights and colors.Lovely.Of course it always happens on a Friday or a holiday.I think these pollution systems sense the weekend and want their days off also.I see four days of lovely Toledo Ohio in our future.Well at least the truck payments made and weve ran a boatload of miles.I fiqure its gonna cost me a grand to fifteen hundred in profit for the days Im down. And Im trying to make some money to take a vacation, lovely timing.Gotta love truck driving and these over computerized machines we drive. You would think these engine manufacturers would build a more reliable product and stop costing themselves so much warranty money.Emulsified looks like my turn for breakdown pay.Wish I had my golf clubs on the truck.Everybody be safe.

If you have time, dispatch is more than happy to dispatch you on a load. The fact is there are very few loaded trailers at the yard to just grab and go...
Stevens does not operate that way.

No repower for me, as usual....:biggrin_2553:
So I will deliver to porky's on Sunday before the sun comes up, and then I a preplanned onto a load that picks up in Scranton on Monday Morning... and delivers in Union City GA anytime on Wed... So sunday will be another great day of 180 miles....
bringing me to a whopping 2180 miles for the week... That sucks big time.

The spray painted trailer that I picked up last week in South carolina, and dropped at the Walmart in Cheyenne is parked next to me today in new jersey...

The wrecker shows up finally today to take us to the Kenworth in Perrysburg today. After he has everything hooked up,he has me start it up to build air pressure and all the pretty lights have gone out, plus is no longer derated.Really, you have to be shi--ing me.Still have a small amber check engine on,but no longer a dpf, stop engine,or large check engine.WTF.Piece of sh-t.Take us in I tell him, somethings wrong with this truck. It wont let me regen and all the warnings just disappear.Sitting at the hotel chillaxin right now, counting the duckies flying out the window.Everybody be safe.Piece of sh-t dpf crap.
