Keep off of pot, only lie on your logs, try not to compress your driving time: ie miles and give Beverly a hard time next time you see her.

Finally got our load yesterday at 1230. Had a dld of 0500.
    Can you say detention?
Hooked up the trailer, checked the tires. One flat. It's marked 100/flat 7/15.
So the trailer was marked with a flat at the yard the day before, but either someone hooked up and peeled off the OOS sticker, or it was ignored.
So inflate it with my air hose and off to New Braunfels TA to get it fixed.
I think we ended up with a total of 357 miles yesterday in 15 hours.
    Oh Boy!
Spent the night in Ozona. That place reminds me of all the excitement of Last Picture Show.
But headed west now. Will be in Tempe tonight, staging for an 0830 delivery to Safeway.
Should be nice. Suppose to be 111 in Phoenix today.
    But it's a dry heat! :biggrin_2555:

detention on loading, you must be dreaming...

Pulled into porkys at 0200 this morning, and backed it into door #5, alongside 3 other stevens trucks.. At 0600 they finally decide to start working, and at 0730, I am empty, and dispatched onto my preplan, up to scranton for my monday 7am pickup... going to union city GA, for a wed noon delivery, live unload too... so only 860 miles for 2 1/2 days... not a good start to next week...
    only 2100 miles this week...
Time for a gentle talk about miles.

me neither, but this is a new driver manager, don't won't him to quit yet.
So I will try the honey approach over the vinegar approach first...

Now get this, my phone rings this evening, unknown number again, but I answered, and it was Stevens. Now why are they using the private numbers to call? too many drivers not answering the switch board number maybe?
Wanted me to do an over night run of live fish to pets smart... I delivered this morning, and drove the 120 miles north, and then been up all day... I kindly told him that I was not safe to do an overnight run...
Then he says you are the only truck in the area....
Hold on fellow, there are 3 empty Stevens trucks setting within 50 feet of my windshield, and they were all here before me....
He then says he will try and find someone else...

How is the christmas dashboard trouble shooting going?
I had a similar problem, and found it to be a corroded sensor on the DPF, from all the road salt... Cleaned the contacts, and no more problems...

That truckstop is creepy. I fueled there about two weeks ago. Last year on their way back from
a school trip to San Antonio, my daughters flag girl group and school band (go JM Hanks High School!) stopped there around 2 am for a break while the buses fueled. Let's just say her and the rest of the kids were expecting someone to come out of the dark wielding a machete wearing a hockey mask, lol!

I guess some things never change. They tried to pull those stunts when I was there.

Lol,you guys come on,we are talking about Ozona,Texas here. The food in the restaurant is actually pretty good. The service leaves a little to be desired, but the food is good.It is kinda in the sticks,so I can see your remarks on Freddy.I would think more like jeepers-creepers.Not much around Ozona.About as small town America as you can get.

I like the restaurant. Huevos Rancheros is pretty good.
they are replacing the fuel tanks this week, so no fuel. Good thing I didn't plan on buying there!
However, they still don't have window washing equipment.
Drive thru a bug storm getting there, then nothing to wash the glass and no air hoses if you need air.
    But...c'est la vie, eh?
So my APU crapped out last night in Eloy, AZ. 102 at midnight, no AC.
Got to Safeway an hour ahead of time this morning (who slept?), in the gate, last truck to leave. Off to TK.
Find out it's just a belt.
    Phew!
    Sleeper is ice cold tonight.
    NICE! :biggrin_25517::biggrin_25517:
Tomorrow, I'm sure it's off to either the meat patch or Yuma.
    But first...some sleep!
