I sincerely agree. The issue here is a post written with no spacing of any kind causes your mind to reanalyze just about everything you try to read resulting in a headache. :biggrin_25510:

No one here was in anyway trying to make the guy feel bad, but this has been an issue for many new TTR visitors and members. Learning to communicate with the written word is something that some will never fully get the hang of. :biggrin_25513:

And being that my other job is that of a fiction writer (unpublished, but a prize winner ... shameless plug ... :biggrin_25523:) typing is something that I tend to take for granted. But trust me, if you want questions answered it's best to try to make them stand out.

1. Like this for example:biggrin_2558:
Or Like this.:biggrin_2558:

The software for TTR is really very sophisticated and is almost as powerful as a full fledged word processor. I am a writer, and I try as hard as I can to not criticize others writing ... it's easy to slip and be critical for me, I earn some extra money as an editor. But I have to admit that I also skipped his post because it was hard to keep track of where I was while trying to read it. :biggrin_2558:

So, now that I've made the issue clear as mud I'll step down from my overnight soap box and continue reading one of my favorite threads. :biggrin_25514:

BTW, can you tell I love the smilies?
I didn't have a problem wanting to read cyclingandrunningmans post. So what, he gets points taken off for punctuation? What the hell is this, English Lit class? As far as I know, we're here to be truck drivers, not major as English professors. He just asked for some answers not to be critisized on "punctuality". You can take points off for my spelling if you like. But if so, YOU are in the wrong proffesion.

So anyways, I took my 3rd and final at home piss test and FINALLY negative! Aw-shucky-ducky-quack-quack. It's on!! Called my recruiter and let him know and he was happy and ready to put me in the next class that starts this Monday at Career Worldwide. It took longer than 30 days from what I was expecting. Some good Meds stuff that I suppose. It was getting past the first week and I had to replace that with a tallcan or two, if I was able to finish it. Sometimes I just nurse it until it gets warm. It was a good remedy to get my mind off it and think that I'm doing this for a good cause. Everything is riding on this. My family;kids future, a better life for us, and to exceed and succeed in my life and my new career, just to name a few. It honestly feels good and I feel great to kick the habit out the window. Just thinking positive and staying focus. Keeping my eyes on the prize. Well guys and gals, my engines rev'd up like a '69 Chevelle, pedal to the metal. Hope to see you all soon on the Stevens Convoy. ;) Keep truckin'
Your having to take 3 at home drug tests before you can go to dallas to pass stevens drug test. Your gonna be the first one in amarillo on channel 25 talking with the man about that high speed chicken feed.

Do you realize how hard it is to read that post while trying to scroll thru it on a bumpy road while keeping one eye on the road as well? (and in the pouring rain too!)

That is why I have a second med card...2 year...from a truck stop doctor. It was worth the $50. This way, I don't get caught in BFE without a card and unable to drive. I know Stevens doesn't accept it, but DOT does. That's all I need in case my 90 day Stevens card runs out.
(It has in the past a couple times, but Stevens seems to look the other way as they route me back to the yard)

2200 drop tonight in Rocky Hill, CT, then off to Bahstan for an 0600 drop.
Then time to start working my way back west. Vacation time coming up.

I am still smoking over a tire issue. Going to bring this one up tomorrow with everyone I can get hold of.
Picked up a loaded trailer in St Joseph, MO. One tire is shredded. It obviously blew shortly before being dropped. Last driver left it for the next one to deal with. (me).
I can give a driver the benefit of the doubt when I get one with a low or flat tire. Maybe he picked up a nail on the trip in.
Yea...I know...I'm being generous here, tho.
But a tire doesn't shred in a meat lot. And the driver couldn't have driven very far with it blown out, or it would have come completely off the rim.
Just a sorry, POS.
The bad part is the Loves that can take care of this (and is the scale point for that Meat place) is 6 miles from the drop point.
In the last 6 months, I have picked up at least 8 trailers with flats and three that had the outside wheel rotated so you can't get to the valve stem of the inside tire.
Tell me how they're checking pressure on that one!
It's time to start charging drivers for their idiocy and responsibility shirking.
Then pay the drivers that spend the time getting it fixed.
OK...rant over.

Funny how the trailer tire issues dropped of drastically with the start of CSA... but now we are back to SOP (standard operating procedure) leave it for the next driver.

Picked this trailer up at Wally World, loaded with pallets. Not one tire was above 80Lbs, and one was 30lbs... spent the next 45 minutes airing them up. Finished that up, and pulled out, and to avoid the accidents on I25, I ran over to US85, and get pulled into the scale, and then get to park it and go inside...
Scale master thought I was missing a mud flap.. it was there, just covered in mud. On down the road to the loves, where I fuel and check the tires again, and have to replace the tire with 30lbs, as it is separating, tread from casing. Sign it was run flat, and over heated...
AT first Road Rescue wanted me to limp it down to the TA in Commerce city, but I refused. Then I sent them a picture of the separation, and they agreed. So loves replaced it.

Sure do wish the drivers that do take care of the trailers would get compensated for doing so, and the drivers that leave these trailers for the next guy, were fined. But everytime I bring it up, the answer is, we can't keep track of who had what trailer...
Total BS... they know, they just don't want to do the work.

Had a very interesting conversation with a owner operator in barstow last week. He would refuse any load to denver or cheyenne, as that puts him in the meat patch, and setting for days. I rarely set for more than a break, unless I shoot myself in the foot (this weekend). With meat loads you have a DLD (dead line departure) and I regularly get out way before the DLD. So I can plan my trip and my days. Yes I like to plan ahead. I drop my trailer, bob tail out, OFF DUTY, get a good meal, and a good nights sleep.

Produce loads, no appointment time, or if you do have one, the shipper ignores it, but you have to be on property, waiting for the knock or phone call to back in. Then wait and wait for them to load you, and you are responsible for the temp, and case count. And one should be logging standing on the dock temping as on duty not driving. And as a solo driver, that #### 14 hour clock keeps getting in the way.. He had never done produce without a co driver, so did not understand that problem.

So we have different views of the meat and produce patch. Neither of us right or wrong, just our experience and preference.
