Yeah, and then there's typing the return text on that teeny-tiny keyboard while holding the wheel with your knees. Those pesky cars with lights on top just don't understand that a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do! C'mon, Smoky. Gimme a BREAK!

Just a quick question for those of you that might know......Talked to the recruiter this morning and asked her about the shuttle running at 10:30 pm which is the time I am scheduled to arrive Sunday the night before I start.
I have been told a few times by you guys that the shuttle does not run that late, and that I should have some cash on hand for a taxi, not a big deal at all, just wondering what time the shuttle actually stops running? I have decided to just take the bus, after getting a little razed by you guys packing some PB @ J and stocking up during the bus stops is the way to go, gives me 2 extra days on the bus to study anyway.
Is the majority of the questions on the permit test dealing with lighting, based on the chapter this is the majority of the information. Is there question about special permits and speed limits on the permit test? Thanks for taking the time!!!

I can't say for sure on the shuttle, but I know it doesn't run that late.
As for the test? If you're coming to Stevens for your CDL, they will cover everything you need to know to pass the test and concentrate on those things that the test centers.
Maybe someone else can answer.
I got my CDL under the Grandfather clause when they introduced the CDL. My original license was 16 written questions and the driving test was to bobtail around the parking lot once with the examiner watching from the curb.Shiftylots Thanks this. -
Questions that I remember that ask about lighting requirements are amber everywhere but the back and back sides which are red, over 80" requirements, and 1960 and earlier trucks...
Shiftylots Thanks this. -
btw, still sitting in the dungeon waiting for a trainer. Would be more fun if some of my lady friends were online to chat with...

It was 60 when I went to Alliance, but they still keep you on Grad fleet restrictions, i.e. truck governed at 62 and no cruise control, still need to submit trip plans etc. This was in September of 2009.

Well... I finally made it into grad fleet. Told my DM I would really like a run that would get me by the house for a couple of hours to get things together. She told me no problem.
They got me a load going from Amarillo to LA. Before I could even leave the truckstop by the house they sent a message saying the load was cancelled but head to Amarillo anyway. Shortly afterwards I got a load from Cactus, TX to LA.
Got to doing the math and I wouldnt be able to make that delivery on time so I got a repower in Kingman. Now Im sitting at the Flying J in Phoenix for an 0600 delivery in the morning.
I thought I wouldnt have any problems finding a parking spot this early but boy was I wrong! Only about 3 open spots!
I ended up with an 09 T-2000.
Question - How accurate is the MPG display on the dash and QC? Dash is showing 7.5 and QC is showing 7.2. -
about as accurate as a politician's promise.
figure about .5 to .6 less than the display.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Well I got my load delivered to Boston this morning, got a load assigment right away. Pick up in western MA and deliver to Ft Worth.
No one can give me a pick up time. ConAgra is the shipper. they have the most efficient voice mail system around. Even the operator has voice mail.
and yes...no one returns the calls.
So I guess I'll head over there in the morning and wait and see.
In the meantime...rain, rain, rain.
You'd think I was in Seattle.
