This is horrible, when I decided to go to Stevens I used to read horror stories about dumb and dumber. The thought of putting two students together is scary. I am not excited about this at all. I leave for school in 3 weeks. Are you expected to sleep when another student is driving? I could never sleep with someone with little or no experience behind the wheel, and in the winter on top of that. kcuf ........... why not just send us solo, why even bother with the extra time.......what and who are we supposed to be learning from, someone enlighten me!!! How do they pair people during this phase? NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!

This way they get all those miles out of you teaming while still paying you a combined $700 a week. Let's say you do 4000 a week @ .26 = $1040 - $700 = $340.00 less they put out. I hear they used to put all the current weeks OR2 grads in one of the big rooms and let you "pair" up on your own.

Actually, they are continuing finish trainers. However, SOME will be D&D. The theory is the O-1 trainer will recommend whether the student is good enough for D&D. They are going to try and put two good students together.
i.e. one student is an experienced driver, but new to Stevens.
This is junior's idea. Word is there is a minor mutiny going on in training dept over this and we'll see how it shakes out.
    Will be interesting.

Dumb and dumber is not a team. Limited to 750 miles per day and can not drive after midnight or before 6 am. Yes you paired up during O2. Hope the mutiney wins

Just talked with the recruiter at Stevens about any changes to the OR2, she said there was small talk about it but they had decided not to go that direction at all. Is she misinformed? Thanks

We delivered in Cedar Falls monday morning, they actually get me unloaded and out the gate before detention starts.I ask the girl at the window what was up,that this was a first, she didnt think it was to funny, lol. We get a load coming out of Storm Lake, delivering to S R THE NEXT morn at 0800.WTF.Well at least I know its gonna be ready when I get there. They say get it rolling we will repower you to keep it rolling. Not a problem I say,Fort Worth/0600 in the morn I say. Then I find out my brother is in Icu at Baylor medical, less than 50 percent chance of survival, headed to Dfw.They send me a message, repower at T/A southeast Dallas.Load going to Taylor Farms Dallas,######. Hate that place.Get to T/A.swap trailers,so we lay down for an hour before we are gonna roll to Taylor,of which Ive informed dispatch that I dont care what Taylor Farms wants, when I pull into the parking lot, this trailer drops, paperwork or no. Well,we get up,we dont have the neww load on the Q.C.Call whats up I say.Other driver is on safety hold.LOL.Cant send you load assignment, wtf,I need fuel.Oh well,Im headed to Taylor anyway.Drop trailer, bobtail home with co driver,go to hospital, come back home, student gets a call from counselor, why have you been off for the last three days, wtf,we just left Iowa yesterday.I say give me the phone, lets just say it wasnt a pleasant conversation.I would say a little lack of communication,on everybodies part.Well they finally got everything straightened out,and we have a repower going to Laredo.See you there Emulsified, how will I KNOW WHO YOU ARE?

I also was one of the ones that got to experience the dumb and dumber. My experience was a good one.But that is beside the point.I am now a finish trainer. These drivers are not ready for this at this point of their journey. The guys that get on my truck are supposed to be able to run the truck with minimal direction from me.Do you think this is the case, not a chance in hell. They cant be serious with this dumb and dumber.

I feel like a ping pong ball.
Had everything set up. Took student with 11 days left. just needs miles. all other req are done. Needed 1400. Will have 3300 more by the end of today.
Scheduled to have him in Dallas yesterday (tuesday) so he can start O-2 today.
Took repower in Cheyenne to help out...get load to Chicago. Suppose to have Kraft load there going to Ft Worth. Can make it.
    Kraft load doesn't materialize.
Go to Waterloo. Laredo load waiting.
Pick up this morning 10 mins before DLD. (so much for load waiting!)
Obviously, student doesn't get to Dallas for O-2 today.
No big deal. He can start next week.
Whoops! Change in plans. Since he crossed Sept 1, he has to do O-1 all over. Some new changes from Jr.
    Long story.
I'm dropping him at yard when I arrive tonight. Told dispatch I'm not taking load to Laredo. Have plane to home friday, then saturday leave on vacation.
"you'll be back in time. just take it. we have loads in Laredo to get you right back!"
    "just like Chicago?"
So I'm dropping load in yard tonight, then heading out friday morning.
Eveyone enjoy Labor Day. I'll be sipping vino and eating pesco e pasta in Fierenze.
A piu tarde e arrivaderci amici!

    Rattlebunny Thanks this.
