Told you short and simple... you have been driving yourself batty with this question of testing, and transferring of license. One test, one license, and yes you must be fingerprinted before the HAZMAT endorsement is issued and it MUST be issued in your home state. That is why you do not take the test in Dallas/Mesquite.

Now in WY I was fingerprinted, and took the Hazmat Test the next day, and then waited 6 weeks for the TSA to send back the information to me, that I then took to the local DMV and had the endorsement added to my license.

    DenaliDad Thanks this.

It's ALWAYS the TSA's slowness. I've worked with them since their creation; many of the original aviation special agents came from FAA security. It's always been a, well, um, a "joy" working with them.

As for the testing business, that's why I keep writing these posts; I trust what I'm being given and it just confirms my initial choice of Stevens. If I pay for my own training, which I still might do, I have the option of buying an additional hazmat module then taking the test locally after I satisfy the TSA.

sooo, was dispatched back up to NY (doesn't help with regions or Mountains). Was going to wait to see where we were dispatched to next cause last NY trip, we had a UT load. Guess where...? TEXAS. I've already spent 8 DAYS driving back and forth cross Texas! I call Max: do something for me! Load is changed to Tn. Hoping that I get SOMETHING West/N. West. Not even to our deliver yet and get a preplan...

    just guess... :/

Go find the Smokies in Tennessee. They have some, so drive up, back down, drive up, back down, drive up, back down.....

It proves you can handle mountains in smoke!

    Hey Former Stevens Students,

What are the chances of a guy doing well in school- graduating and then not being hired on? If I am correct you are hired on before you ever start the school program- am I right? Thanks For taking the time!!:biggrin_25514:

somewhere close to zero or less.
You must qualify physically to even get into Stevens School. About the only thing I can think of preventing you from being hired is if you failed your drug test during orientation.
I don't think I've ever heard of anyone who has graduated from Stevens CDL school, not being hired at orientation.

    Nycmex77 and Shiftylots Thank this.

According to their recruiter, all the background, medical, and other tests are done early so nobody is wasting anybody's time. If you lie on an application or are medically DQ'd, you're on the bus back home the next day.
