Hey Chuck, was that place in Grand Prairie a produce place? I can't remember the name, had "Fresh" in it. Last load I picked up with my last finish trainer. I needed 1 day. I spent the night in his truck on the yard, got this load in the am, it took them most of the day to get us loaded and by the time I drove back across Dallas in rush hour traffic, the trainer called Randell and he said that counted, so I got dropped at Americas best and a new student got on.

    On my way to Omaha.
Had to reload trailer to make it legal.
Seems to me it would have been much cheaper and faster to have hand reloaded the two totes that had slid off the skids, but I am merely a lowly truck driver.

Well, they got the load done, at 17:37 I get called and told to come to the office to get BOL and such. Do so, and the lady asked me to take a stack of BOLs to the guard shack on my way out.
Get back to the trailer and it still has a red light. Air horn, banging the dock plate with a hammer, etc, nothing. Go back to the office and it's closed and locked. Go to the guard shack and he says nobody inside.
So, the load is ready, but locked to the dock and everyone's gone home for the night.
    INSANE
So, I park at the TA after giving the guard the stack of BOLs. Wake up next morning and my ABS system has a fault. I stupidly mention that. Now I'm sitting at the Peterbuilt dealer and waiting.

No, it was AMS or something like that on Ave T I believe. Saw 2 or 3 other Stevens there. It is a load of peanut brittle. I did inform them the load might not make it there! :biggrin_25525: Backed into the door and was on the road am hour later.

Glad that you have your training done. Was that OR 1 or OR 2? I cant remember where you are.

Maxi, got to love those laredo loads. They gonna pay u for the round trip I hope.
Smokr, morris pro logics is really getting bad. And it is brake check week. Could be a blessing for u.

When JBS sealed the trailer I noticed the large boxes of trim on the tail. Stopped for lunch and checked the bills, those totes of trim are for the final. Try to call meat leave a message send a qc and get ignored. And there has been no delivery appt set. This morning get asked if I am on time? My answer have no idea have no appts. And this traIler is loaded backwords.

Then when the CSR went to set the appt the boxed beef for the grocery warehouse had been cancelled. So now I have 1/2 trailer with no destination. But I am saved by a repower request from ST george utah to northlake IL. Poor guy that got the meat load is trying to get home to oregon.

Now I need a set of rocket packs to make chicago by friday morning. Got to love late produce loads.

That was my last day of finish training back in 2009. I left Stevens in 2010. Right now I drive a desk, but I'm thinking of getting back on the road.

Repowered my load last night in OK. Now heading for Cali, but won't make it. So probably will repower tonight in AZ. Walmart load, so they won't want to reset the appt.
No matter. So long as I'm rolling.

OK Stevens vets, need some advice.

I picked up a bulk load of carrots here in Ohio. After theyre done loading me they tell me that their scale is broke. Closest scale is 50 miles in the opposite direction, or 80 miles going in the right direction. So I drive the 80 miles and scale. BAHHH Im overweight. Im at 80560 gross. Call Stevens and they tell me to get the axles as close as I can and that Im legal at 80400 because of the APU. They say I should burn off the 160 lbs running the reefer on continuous and by driving. On top of that, Im out of hours on my 14

What should I do? heres my scale
    10th hole
    steer 12320
    drive 34220
    tandem 34020
    total 80560

Get it over the QC that they are authorizing you to run overweight. CYA. Then drive around the scales/use your cb to find out if they are open. How much fuel do you have? 8 lbs to the gallon, half comes off steers, half off drives, just a rule of thumb. Not all states give you an allowance for the APU, and the amount varies as well.
