Arrive at DFW this afternoon. Call the shuttle, it comes within seconds. Thought we were all groovy. 5 People load up in the van and we hit the road.....so I thought. The Driver spends the next hour and 20 minutes circling the airport trying to fill his remaining 3 seats. It was his last run to Misquite for the day, and then he was off. Finally I bribe the guy with 30 cash to hit the highway, it worked. Sitting in the hotel room now, Stevens guys are everywhere. The first guy I saw said it best......Welcome to the jungle, I am here for business and thats it, update you all Monday!!!

Started this forum 3 days ago and made it to page 110 before I joined. I'm in phoenix and have applied and went through interviews here and from dallas. I have to show a w2 and an accident report (not at fault) then start school here week after next. I have enjoyed reading this. Was tired of ppl badmouthing companies saying don't drive for whoever because they are a scam. I'm a big boy and will do research and make my own decisions. This thread has had its ups and downs. Its been a refreshing read. Wish me luck and I hope to talk to all of you in the future.

I got my requirements out of the way, but it has taken 55 days in 01. I was suppose to be sent home Wednesday, but my counselor told me that the DM woulg get us a load back to the yard. But, as you know nothing in trucking is set in stone. Instead of heading back to the yard we were sent to up state NY. I called the counselor who told me when we got to a truck stop (Carlisle, PA) to call for directions. So as instructed I called, and I got a return call at 1645 Friday. By that time we were down in NC headed to SC and had to stay because she called to late to do any thing.
So, now I am still on the truck. If you get off without them telling you to, it's truck abandonment and it goes on your DAX. You will never get a job in trucking with with that on your record. I am now headed to Louisiana with what looks like another week in the truck because my trainer goes home on the 2nd. I know I'll go home when he does.
To be treated in this way I am now force to look for another trucking co. I now have over 14,000 miles driving, and by the way I came to school with my class "A" and past experience. How should this be handled with paying them back for the school, etc? I am so dissapointed with this company and some employees and the cavalier attitutude regarding the things in the white policy book.

So it took a little longer than expected and now you want to break your contract and l;eave to go somewhere else? Sorry dude, but this is trucking. If something this small is going to wind you up that bad you will never make it in this business.

As for handeling paying them back for the school. Read your contract. If you leave before the 1 year commitment you agreed to, the full amount of the loan becomes due immediately. So, I hope you have some money in the bank.
