Thanks for ythe info. I wwill be coming to stevens in the next couple of weeks and that info just made my mind up for me. I was thinking of going with covenant because of their no bad weather policy. I have read almost every post on here and stevens sounds like the cpmpany to go with.

Chillin in the cool breeze in Lodi California. Made our 2 drops in Sparks and Reno today. Heading out to Milpitas, Oakland and Livermore tomorrow in the wee hours. I love the Northern Cali then the southern Cali.
I did get my max gross weight coming down the Parley's Summit Mt in Utah with no Jake brakes. "Come on Stevens, grab a gear. Don't be chicken #####." Hahaha... But what sucks is that we shaved off 2500lbs of meat in Reno which was vital for my next task going down Donner Pass today on the jakes. Ain't that a "beep." Now we need to find a load to get me thru 3 more mountains.
There suppose to be a storm coming thru Donner Pass either tomorrow or Tuesday. Don't say I didn't warn you guys.
I hope we get a produce load in Cali going up to Cabbage "patch" hill.
Be back again when I can grab the free wi-fi. -
Thanks for all the well wishes guys.Me and the new driver have been running pretty consistently for the last two weeks.Ive been training for almost three years and not once has my co-driver not had his requirements and been back on the yard in more than 36 days.My current co-driver is 16 days in,has all his requirements except for 3500 more miles and 19 more days.Piece of cake.A trainer can make sure a co-driver gets his requirements. But the co-driver needs to be pro=active also.I myself make sure the requirements happen.Im strong willed and I make it happen. But thats me.We do have some trainers that dont fulfil their obligation as they should. But the students get to grade just as we do,and that needs to be brought to the attention of the powers that be.8550 miles for me and the co-driver over the last few weeks.Sitting in Portland, unloading tomorrow, with a preplan from pasco to canton.Life is good. This is the first time in 16 days I have had time to get on line.Be safe everybody.DenaliDad Thanks this.

Thanks for the info Shiftylots
What about if i already have my CDL, what i would i be doing at Stevens???? i guess before i go to Stevens i will read the DMV manuals book to do a resfresh, you know when you dont have the practice you forget things.....

If you have a valid cdl, you will attend Orientation 1, where the first three days are paperwork, and test you skills on the "hill". Then it is out with your trainer, which are assigned on thursday.

No offense guy,but by reading some of your post, how diligent have you been in getting to the yard. You need to be on your counselors rear.Be as adamant and persistent as needed without being offensive. AFTER THREE WEEKS OUT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALL OVER HIS REAR TO GET YOUR REQUIREMENTS DONE.Sure sounds like you got a bad trainer,my current driver is 17 days in and has all his requirements except miles and days.Get on the phone with your counselor or Cheney or Randall and dont take no for an answer. These counselors have a ton of students. They are busy. You need to make it happen.maxwelltie and DenaliDad Thank this.

Little twit should have noticed the temperature strip on the side of the sample cup. Makes you wonder where they come from.

So Shifty, how many students left now?
Started my first day at Tri State and there 6 students total in this class. with 4 instructors we'll see who doubles. While the other 5 are testing at DPS on Wed. I'll be on the track. If there are not to many students in the weekend class I'll try to get some driving time in. This is great, started at 0600 and was released just before 1600 today. Stopped by my future employers today and did a walk about. It'll be nice, home every weekend even during during training. Flat bedding will be strenuous but fun. The guys there average about 2500 miles a week and at .40 per mile, sweet.
If you ever want to drive team, let me know. Keep up the good posts. -
BTW, got the data recorder for my APAP today and already installed. No problem next time on the physical.
DenaliDad Thanks this.
