And much to my amazement, wgcarver and barracuda are still alive. :)

Glad to hear it. Do you run like a team when you are with your trainer?

We can within certain limits. As a trainer/student team, the truck for the first couple weeks is limited to 750 miles/day. Also, the truck MUST be stopped for eight hours a day. This allows a student to get accustomed to the irregular hours of this industry. If you're coming from a 9 to 5 life, you will need to adjust to trucking which is anything but a 9 to 5 life.

The last two weeks, you can run like hell if you'd like so long as hell is not more than 1000 miles away. The truck still must stop for eight hours a day. This policy is there because Stevens trainers (especially this humble one) actually train.

That is very useful information. I will be starting on the 28th of March and I can wait to get there. I know I should believe all the hype, but I'm ready with and open mind.

I will do my best, don't want to take my laptop just yet. Want to get the feel for what I'm doing then get my truck.

I'm on day 2 put on med hold till I can take a test to show my back can handle the job. I'm not afraid my injury was 5 years ago and I have been fine since. just sucks that I cant touch a truck or be on the yard till I'm cleared. I do understand it's an insurance and liability issue so I'm not mad, just a little frustrated. The up side is I get plenty of time to study. :)

SMOKR! you started the best stevens blog ever. when are you going to stop training? are they training you to be a trainee? just kidding. i'm a stevens alumni. i wasn't happy with stevens . i don't recommend it to people who have bills and no savings account to pull them through the first year. but you are in a good position in life. don't worry about guys like bigtexan58. if you like what you are doing ,screw the money and stay with it. keep writing. there is good stuff on this site
