Exercise is not hard to get in this job. Strap a bike to the back of your cab, walk/jog while loading/unloading, take out a football in the lot and watch the other drivers come play, keep weights or a set of rubber pulleys onboard. No problem.

    clark330 Thanks this.

Or a baseball and a pair of mitts even. Anyway, got THE CALL today. They are going to try to get us a load going to Dallas so I can go to grad fleet classes and get my own truck. YAY! currently there is no waiting for a truck and students are going from grad classes into a truck the same week. Right now we are sitting in Fogelsville PA waiting to unload at the Americold. There is a small Italian place three blocks east on Tighlman called Paseo Mio that is awesome. I had the best baked mannicotti I've had since I lived in Chicago! Be sure to ask for the meat sauce! They had some great looking pizza too and a large varied menu with decent prices. Thier website is on Facebook at Paseo Mio or googlesites paseomioitalianrestaurant. Worth driving hard to get here early so you can eat there!

Yes they will have an experienced driver go out with a trainer, and I do know that some do one trip, and then are assigned their own trucks. Paperwork, refer operations, all have to be verified, and the trainer has to sign off that you know what you are doing.

    Congratulations smoker!!!:biggrin_2551:

I will have to remember that about Fogelsville PA. Have never been there. Have never had good luck delivering to or picking up at americold either. They always take forever.:biggrin_25521:

Hope you get a Driver Manager you communicate well with, as you will be talking to them everyday for a while during your Grad Fleet. Grad fleet was the most difficult for me, as I do not like to be baby sit, and that is what grad fleet is all about. baby Steps, until you are sick and tired of the baby steps.:biggrin_2554:

That is not totally true. if your experience was long ago they probably will after they give you a road test. If you have recent experience you will go straight into your own truck.
