So the moral of the story is this: Do not eat healthy-looking food at TA. Eat the greasiest, fattest, slurpest, thing on the menu. That way, at least you know it was cooked sometime in the recent past...unlike salad, which can sit in those festering pans for a long, long time.
Glad you're okay, Smokr. -
Wow:

Been sitting here in the dock three hours now, waiting to be unloaded on this first drop. Nolumpers here yet.
Tyson load.
Two more drops.
And to make things really good? It's raining, the streets are flooding and I'm in LA! -
I have a REALLY hard time believing ANYTHING the ATA (American Trucking Association) says.

From the annals of great advertising:

Got unloaded at Sysco in Lewisville, TX today. It only took them 4 hours to unload and count 10 pallets which left me as the very last OTR truck on the lot (maybe they don't like Steven's?) I got a repower tonight that has a drop at the Ft Worth Target DC at 2300. After that, it's one more night in a hotel, and then I'll hit the yard tomorrow am.
I thought I'd never say it, but I'm actually happy to be in Dallas. -
Every shipper could take lessons from the kraft plant in new Ulm MN. Pulled up to the gate at 7:50 for my 8am appt. Check in, back into the door, and 45 minutes latter i am pulling forward closing my doors, getting my paperwork and heading to the scale across the street. 42400 lbs in the box, going to cally and in the 5th hole i am 32100 on the drives and 33000 on the trailer. Massive storm rolling in so the route plan is critical.
So i rolled west on I90 and stopped in rapid city tonight. Drop across the southern black hills and catch I80 at rawlins WY. Miss all that freezing rain in nebraska and snow for southeast WY.
This J still has the J buffet and menu. Nice change. Having been a food manager I rarely eat a buffet.
Smokr, at least this time you knew what to do, and avoid the trip to the yard. And fot the night and weekend crew they need an additude adjustment and a larger crew to handle the problems these storms are causing. -
Finally out of the first drop at the Restaurant Depoe.
They make Sysco look fast!
In the dock at the second drop (Jethros). They had the roll up open and ready before we could even get into the dock. Didn't have time to turn off the lights and they were inside the trailer.
What a difference.
Now only one more drop in Pasedena...another Restaurant Depoe.
Rush hour in LA in the rain.
Oh so lovely! -
I am relieved that Stevens is getting you to the yard as promised. Here lately there has been a lot of miscommunication, no communication, or just ugly lies to drivers. Promises made so the driver will do a repower, and then breaking the promised preplan, or trip home.
Me if the log book would let me, I would be on the yard as soon as I was empty at target. On second thought, though you do need a place to sleep, and those couches in the drivers lounge are not that comfortable.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.
