That's why I've stopped reading most of the TTR forums and pretty much restrict myself to this one. January 9 will begin my own exposure to the truth/no-truth system called Stevens Transport.

Seems like a lot of rules have changed since I went through the school August, 2010. We were told to stay out of the drivers lounge and out of the break rooms in the Admin building. We could go in the break room to use the machines or get coffee, but we were supposed to eat our lunch in the classroom or on the tables upstairs. Can't even find a table in the downstairs break room because of all the school students!!Corporal_Clegg Thanks this.

It was that way in May this year. Seemed as though we were not allowed anywhere.
Kinda irked me a little yesterday and today when I couldnt find a place to sit down and relax. Today I had to spend about and hour in the smokers room because that was the only available seat. Finally had to leave because I couldnt breath. I would had sat outside but Im already sick and dont want to get any worse and they had my truck in the shop so I couldnt hang out there as I normally do. -
Yeah, we were specifically told not to go into the drivers lounge at all. Today, the drivers lounge looked like a #### bus terminal! Any more, the yard is conforming more to the students than to the drivers.
In other news, I got to the yard at 1 today, drop the trailer, and take the bills to the dispatch window. The lady asks me "what are you doing here?" I explained to her that I was instructed by my DM to bring the load to the yard. She gets way bent out of shape and goes off on a rampage about how the load was going to be late (delivers in Laredo on Fri at 7am,) and how only she can authorize a load to be brought to the yard.
A half hour later, I get a call from my DM denying that he ever told me to bring the load to the yard. After a few minutes of back and forth with him, we both agree that there was some miscommunication and what is done is done. Now that this last little snafu is out of the way, I can relax and get ready to go home for Christmas! -
Well, picked up a candy load in Victorville, heading for Livermore.
Going to drop my student at the greydog terminal in Modesto tonight.
Then deliver this candy on friday morning. PU a load bound for Boise friday night.
If the weather co operates, I should wander into town saturday evening.
Load delivers tuesday.
Almost there. -
I suspect the students are there due to the holiday. I understand there's a fair amount that haven't been dispatched and are waiting.
Randall was all set to have a student waiting for me in Sacto tomorrow, but I told him no.
Randall doesn't like to hear NO.
But I'm going home for a week and it isn't nice to make a new student sit in the truck stop for a week.

had that very same problem about a year ago, but I had a QC message telling me to bring the load to the yard. Got the same attitude at the window, I dropped the bills, and walked upstairs to talk with smokie. Got an appology the next day. Glad you get to go home.

Yeah, I've learned my lesson now. From now on, everything is going thru the qualcomm.

Well that restart rule really puts a crimp in things.
Maybe we should make the FMCSA follow the same rule.Jarhed1964 Thanks this.
