Me also,Ive reset a number of times under a load and compliance has never said a word about it.And the reason is,its not against dot to do that. And Im sure mother knew it would get a pretty good argument from my end. Also 15 minutes at a shipper and to the sleeper.Sure dot officers know this is not what happens. But,are we gonna go back to the shipper to check cameras to see if your actually in the sleeper. The only time your usually on the dock is on a produce load,or at least you should be.Mfg,move on dude,we do not have the option to lease a truck from paclease,so get over it.We use what we have. And believe me,with enough screaming at Bonnie over extreme complications,we can get truck payments delayed or moved to the end of the lease.Troll somewhere else.

The company pays up front. You reimburse at a dicounted rate over time out of your settlements once you get a truck. If a recruiter tells you differently, call ########.Any of you guys have questions on these recruiters fire away.Remember ,these are basically sales people. They get paid for recruiting. And they may at times stretch the truth just a little.lol.

Im at home on time off for a much needed break.I was toast. We got a Laredo load out of Marshallton, going over the border.FYI GUYS.Any load going over the border from this shipper is going to be at least 12 hrs. past the Dld.Very few exceptions. When I called up traffic to question them on the delay. We have no control over the USDA I was told, and didnt you call earlier, lol. It cost me a day at home with the family,I wasnt happy.I tend to get a little irritated when shippers dont do their job efficiently and cost me time, money and heaven forbid home time.Good thing I had a co-driver to send in for the paperwork.Im no t a real friendly individual when I get irritated.Lets just say its not in my nature to avoid sticking my foot in my big mouth,or to avoid confontation,or just accept thats the way it is.Im going to voice my displeasure. And its not usually a very friendly conversation. Its probably amazing that I still have a job.Well,I have toned it down as Ive gotten older. And Ive learned to leave the expletives out of it.LOL.But I usually get my point across. These shippers are getting ridiculous.Im not one to accept it.Im going to speak up.Stay safe everyone.

Unless the bills say "Driver Count" I was in the sleeper. Also with multi stop loads I was on the dock and on-duty especially meat loads, after catching crap from OS&D over a missing case of meat on a pre-sealed trailer. Remember, you sign those bills saying you have "x" number of whatever.

Only occasionally did it put a major crimp in my clock.

The only time your responsible for a pre sealed trailer is if it has multi.stop loads.Other than that OSD can take it and shove it.The first stop,no responsibility at all.If its a live load and your allowed on the dock your responsible.Other than that, not your responsibility. You can not be held responsible for the count on product that you were not allowed to count, and OSD KNOWS THAT.

All these things are true on your logbook.Theoretically your on duty when on the dock at a shipper. Some loads you can find out how many cases are on a pallet and count the pallets after loaded.Of course if all the pallets have the same product. Its a catch 22 on your logbook.Do you waste time on your logbook because dot says thats the way it is.Or do you stretch your hrs available to run more miles and make more money. Its a choice each individual driver has to make. Its all about how closely you are going to follow the letter of the law.Im not going to elaborate on which driver I am,lol. From what I understand our E-logs allow you to clock out of on -duty at any time.Whats to stop you fro clocking out,and then heading back to the dock.I.E.,THE LETTER OF THE LAW.A ND THUSLY TAKING CARE OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITY ON THE PRODUCT COUNT,AND AT THE SAME TIME STRETCHING YOUR HOURS AVAILABLE TO RUN.The choices to be made by each individual driver.

Going off-duty at the shipper only affects your 70. I did have a few times when I was bumping up against it due to having to be on the dock. But I made the choice to log it as I did it as Stevens says they want you to. I knew that I would soon be left sitting for a day or two and get my 34 in, and it is tough for them to give you grief over "I don't have the hours" when you are doing what they tell you. I have had deliveries rescheduled after they put me on a load I told them I couldn't make and they could no arrange a repower. I had trainers teach me to do it the other way and did as I was told while on their truck. Once I went solo I did it my way. Less chance of anything biting me in the butt down the road.
