Looks as though Stevens just bought 1200 new trailers.
-
Good, can start saying goodbye to the 8 and 9 thousand series PITA trailers. No more bars soon that always have broken pins......
-
I knew they must be negotiating when I was in the yard last.
A Great Dane trailer with Stevens graphics, parked out front of Steve Aarons' office.
Trailer number was something like 36345.
Just like when he's negotiating with Paccar....last time, before this latest order of 700's, it was a couple Prostars parked out front with a trailer.
So, like Dujo says....finally we get rid of the 8000 and 9000 series.
And we'll be virtually totally Cali compliant. -
Well, we delivered the final drop last night in Vegas.
Deadhead to Barstow where we repowered a Vernon load for delivery tomorrow 0600.
Then? Qien sabe? -
anyone know what stevens policys might be on applying a 2nd time?
a few years back I got my cdl and joined up with stevens. I did the 5 weeks with a trainer and right before the student-student part, I had a death in the family. I felt the need to stay home for a while, but now want to get back out there and try again. do you think they'd let me try out again? my cdl is still valid, but I dont know how friendly they are to someone that dropped out. and I'm assuming Id have to do the first 5 weeks again...
thanks in advance,

You would probably be fine to come back. But unless you have been driving OTR for at least the last 6 months you would have to go through the school and all training again.

Good morning guys!I'm still about 30 days or so out from being on my way to Dallas for school.Readying everything here at home and going to probably put alot of my things into storage because I know I won't be back for a long time.Though I have my CDL-A(with fifth wheel restriction, only had a tri-axle dump with 20 ton low bed), I've been reviewing the old CDL manual to make sure my book knowledge hasn't been lost. But I had a quick question or so I know you guys could answer. 1.Is it wise to show up a day or so early to become familiar with the surrounding area? And 2.Are the weeks of schooling every day back to back for the whole duration (not that I have a problem with that, just curious)? Thanks every one and I hope you're all doin' well out there.

No need to turn up early unless it makes you feel more comfortable. They are very organized with timetables.
There is no spare time. They keep you busy and when you're not studying, you're gratefully sleeping.
Good luck.The Big T Thanks this. -
Wow, first positive experience with the new dispatch system for us. Delivered @ Morris, IL, put in 'empty' call @ 0715, head for TA, before we can back in to a space, LOAD ASSIGNMENT, p/u @ 0800 in Joliet, deliver in Lodi, CA!!!! Last few times we have been in Morris we have received our Load Assignment at 3:30-4 in the afternoon, deadhead 200+ miles to pick-up a load that was scheduled for 8:00 that morning. Seems the new system works in some areas of the country. Can I get a big H*** YEAH!!!!
