My start date is March 11th. It wasn't too tough a decision to go with Stevens. I kept coming back to the 8wks of training. I believe you can't get too much. Anyway looking forward to arriving in Dallas. Time to get out of MN.

if your a new driver, dont get pressured into joining alliance like they do. after some experience i can understand, but they push rookies into alliance and only talk about the good and not the bad. i was in alliance for over a year, was successful at it, but its not for fresh newbies, and its not for everyone. no offense.

I signed with Alliance as a Fresh Nooby as soon as I was qualified and they let me. No regrets here. I have done great from the start.

I was never pressured into joining either. I pushed for it more that they did lol.

Most people do as well. If you can follow simple instructions and accept constructive criticisms then you'll do fine and make more money. Its not about being a "noob", its about working hard, paying attention, and sticking to the plan.

Alliance wants to get me back to the yard to sign, I believe I have the attitude and fortitude to make it work. I am out here to make money after all. Still thinking about it. Hard to commit after the month I have had.

January is always a hard month.
Don't judge trucking by this month.

I think you'll do fine man, just sock back some $$ from your first few settlements when your costs are low with the incentives. This way you can weather the storm of the slow season if need be.

alliance is about managing your time, smoothing out the highs and lows, and always looking at the big/long picture, and running each trip as efficiently as you can. We all have bad weeks, and good weeks. The key is to save/set aside money on the good weeks, and not get so upset over a bad week that you go off half ####ed, and start making bad decisions.

And don't forget about your quarterly self employment taxes. the penalties will add up quickly.
