fought with the wind yesterday to get to amarillo for a repower, to a load going to longmont co. The other truck decided to stop short and go on weather shut down. I could not make the appointment time in Chandler arizona, so I was then repowered to an empty...
My driver manager got me a chance to keep rolling, even with my short hours, but the other truck messed that up.. They were being safe, since they did not feel comfortable in the wind.
So here I sit and wait... only have 8 hours today, and 3 coming back thursday, and 4 coming back friday. by then I will have a 34 reset in... The waiting and screw ups in California bite me this week. who knows maybe another one waiting for a load or a load that needs repowered... to short on hours today for a repower, already tried that.
Lots of empty trucks with trailers setting around too!!!! -
Greetings from wind torn Joplin!
I know I haven't been around lately, but here I am again.
That 'supercell' came thru Joplin last night and I thought the J was going to bite it again.
Certainly was an E ticket ride.
Load of chicken from down the road (Rogers), heading for Virginia.
Miles were decent for February. Nothing to brag about, but not any crying.
Who'd listen anyway?
Heading into the yard shortly. 90 is up end of next week.
If the wind continues, I'm going to have to put rocks in my pockets to stay earthbound. -
Overnight from Pontoon Beach to Denver.
The winds across Kansas this morning were enough to make me want to take up sailing again!
Only 12,000# in the box.
Phew! -
Delivered in Kansas City this morning. Pretty stormy last night.
Loading up at the cave in Independance. Im glad Stevens pays for the spotter here. -
Dang...sounds like the March lion is roaring loudly around the entire country.
In Maine watching the drizzle on my windshield turn to ice. Have a load that picks up in Woburn MA in the morning at 1000. We'll see what this ice looks like after the sun comes up. Load's destined for Laredo by Monday. Then its to the yard for my 365 day spring workshop refresher course.

Sitting at the Loves in Cheyenne. Swapped my load due in Seatte on Friday morning to a trainer and student. I told my DM it wasn't looking good for OTD yesterday before the storms really kicked in while I was still near Arkansas. Got 550 miles off it yesterday, and another 140 today, but no way I was going to make it. I was doing 50 and less last night fighting those winds even with 41,000 in the box. Now I'll probably sit here all day waiting for a load. Don't look forward to an empty in these winds anyway.
Been a really crappy couple of weeks as far as miles. -

Hey Smokr....stick your hand out and wave.
I'm at the J.
It was fun crossing Kansas today with 12,000 in the box and 6,000 mph side winds! (at least it SEEMED that way)
Waiting for a load to get here sometime during the night, then we run it to Salt Lake.
Will get my student's last mountain (Parley), then I ship him off to Dallas for O2 on monday.
If all goes right and the trucking gods smile upon me, I'll get home. -
