Here is the exact wording from my current lease.
(H) regarding home time, WE will pay the deadhead mileage from your last drop or home time location to the next pickup point which ever is less for a maximum of 400 miles.
Stevens does not pay to get you home anymore. So if I drop in aurora co and go home that is 278 miles. Then when I come off home time, going to lexington nebraska that is 396 miles but I will be paid for the shotest miles which are aurora co to lexington ne 327 miles. That means I drove 347 miles on my dime.
Now if they want me to go to greeley to pick up I get paid a whole 72 miles but drive 428 miles, so 356 miles on my dime. -
These are the very same drivers that complain about the low pay and no miles.

Yeah and he was on the dark side.I was thinking to myself, you need to find another job, because this is not your cup of tea.You cant make it on the lease side with that work ethic.

my load finally showed up in winslow az at 2300 last night... only have to knock out 720 miles by 4am sunday... It took this driver 11 hours to drive 400 miles... but I will say he was two weeks solo and had to do I17 for the first time in the dark...
I am surprised he got out of california with the load... 78,000 total, and he had the trailer tandems at 33,560, but in the 14th hole...
Iced broccoli on the tail too!!!
oh well Raton pass would have been a nightmare before sunup.... you could tell it was a sheet of ice. Setting in Pueblo CO, get me some sleep, and do the last 110 miles at o dark 30 again...
Then I need a repower to the nabisco load, or at least one to the cheyenne walmart... at least I would get paid for another 108 miles on the way home.
Nice to know that others also have repowers go bad, drivers not show up, or refuse to do the repower. -
Sitting in St George,SC on I 95. 523 miles to get to delivery in Boynton Beach, FL tommorow night at 2130. Then a load back to Maxton,NC.

Here is a good one for yall!! i just got of the phone w/ a fellow grad driver whom i came thru school with. he just repowered a load in roswell nm. the g1 driver who had it picked it up as a repower in amarillo tx. it has a destination in ogden ut....???. when he got there the g1 driver said he intended to take it from amarillo down to
I-10 then across to I-15 and up to ogden. as i figure it that has to be like 800 miles out of route... wow! -
Thats why grad drivers are required to do a trip plan with their dm before rolling.Somehow the loop was missed there.I have so many stories on the laziness and stupidity of some of our drivers Ive forgotten most of them.Thats why 90 percent of guys never make it past a year in this business. Some guys just never get it.With some guys it takes awhile for them to fiqure out this job is not for me.
-
I tell new guys ... trip planning will make you or break you.
-
Maybe he thought he would get paid the extra miles he was going to drive if he went that way, lol. There is a reason why he got repowered in Roswell, lol. Some drivers didnt pay attention in the trip planning class, lmao, dee ta dee Ive got this.
