So February was only 7k milles, has to get better, right?
Well, March is going downhill from there rapidly. After that 1,000 mile, four day, four drop load, I wait almost 24 hours before I get a dispatch. I get 105 miles down the road in stop and go D.C. traffic on I-95 on a Friday afternoon taking four hours. Then I hear what sounds like a bicycle tire popping and leaking out. When I get another couple miles I smell anitfreeze and start worrying. My temp goes up and my fan light comes on and stays on. Another couple of miles with nowhere to pull off and I notice my air pressure is under 100lbs and not replenishsing. A few miles further and it's 70 and still dropping whenever I use the brakes and not going up at all.
As I hit the first exit with a truckstop the air is down to 60. Using the brakes as little as possible I stop in the flying J and try holding the engine rpm up a while, but no increase in air.
I call breakdown and he wants me to head across the highway to the Loves. The garage is closed but he says the repair guy won't go in the fJ lot. I start the truck and push in the brake knobs and they pop back out. Not enough pressure. I tell breakdown and they call someone else to come look.
He finds a lose water hose clamp and says the air dryer has failed.
Now, it's 8pm on a Friday and I have a dealer warranty repair issue.
Breakdown says maybe they can get the dealer to come fix on the spot or maybe tow me in to fix it before they close at noon tomorrow.
HA
To top it all off, the lousy month last month and so far this month has my finances in the toilet. I have $45 to my name and won't get paid until Monday, most of which will have to keep my cell phone and internet on.

Sometimes I have to remind myself to be thankful I had the money to paid bills and be broke. A lot of us on this forum are in a better place financially than most these days, even if we are broke and live hand to mouth each week.Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
No bonuses for referrals. But thanks for offering.

Still no hope of getting it fixed this weekend. So I'm stuck at a fj with crappy internet and my wireless internet signal stinks.

Packing my bag getting ready to head to the yard in the morn.Time off has been good.Unfortunately the bills dont get paid sitting on the sofa.Back to the grind.Hopefully the training department will have a new co-driver for me in the morn.January and February have been kind of slow.Hopefully the freight and the miles will pick up now that spring is rolling in.

Just ringing in to let you guys know I will be going to Stevens orientation in two weeks and was wondering how you guys like working for Stevens. Wife and I will be going together but she is not driving, so being home a lot is not a problem. How are the miles? How are the driver managers? Any problems I should be aware of?

TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

Wife is staying home till training is all done. Recruiter told me I had to wait 90 days after I get my own truck before she could go with me. Shes not happy about that one. So, I was told 5 weeks with a trainer. Can you give me some more information on the training process. I drove over 25 years ago but only for a couple of years and moved into another carreer.
