Finally managed to put a couple of good weeks together!!! Freight is definitely picking up. We had some really bad weeks as a team right after the holidays, a couple of which would make a solo unhappy, less than 3000mi. Finally hit over 5000 last week and starting this week with a 3200mi run from Landover to Cali. First load that we have gotten after delivering in Landover in over a year that didn't go to Morris, IL. Expect to get a load out of Oakland area heading to Sanger/Denton, especially since it's time for our 90 day trip to te yard.

Been burning up the 40 these last couple weeks. Seems I've been just about everywhere between Arkansas and California.
Decent miles. Just keeping my head low and out of people's line of fire.
Heading to the yard now for my 90 day.
Then, hopefully, out to San Diego to see my daughter and her family.
Stay out of the wind everyone.
Will post when I hit the yard... maybe meet up with one or two of you.

Looks like you will be there and gone before we get there. Deliver at 0200 Wednesday in Oakland, then head to Atwater for a load headed to Cheshire, guess the DM will have to find a repower to get us to Dallas.

Can't wait to hit the yard this time tho, our new T700 is 'losing' miles. We are coming in under mileage on every trip. Started making notes on the miles the GPS says from point A to point B along with odometer readings, and it turns out we are losing about 3.5%.

Yeah. Dps isn't allowing more than 10 people per day and dps now. So I now can't take my driving test til next Thursday the 22nd. And I'm suspose to graduate this Friday. And I swear half the people in my class can't shift without grinding gears still. And some can't even do a straight line backing. I #### you not. But what can I do.

Lol!! Don't feel too bad. Most of the grad fleet drivers still don't know how to shift or back. I have a friend (who is in Alliance and is on regular fleet) who won't back into a spot unless it's at least 3 spaces wide because she doesn't know how to back. Besides, they tell you flat out that the school is there to teach you to get a cdl. You start to learn to drive a truck when you start your 5 weeks.

I wondered when the DPS was going to start limiting Stevens on the number of people that are coming in every week.

Sitting at the OKC Petro tonight. US Foods refused to take the load early. Hopefully they are rather zippy tomorrow when they go to unload their whopping 124lbs of chicken.

Yeah. Man I was mad. There is a lot of people in my class that just dont care. And I don't feel safe riding with I mean I have done everything. And have learned everything up to this point. And got #### good at it. And now I gotta wait. I dont get it. They should separate or actually start rolling back more than 2-3 every class and roll back everyone who is struggling. I know I got to learn patience but I hate standing around in a group in stations when it take someone 6-7 trys to just do a simple straight back line. These guys get in there and start cranking the wheel. I mean honestly I should of been taking videos and posting them on YouTube. I would have y'all entertained for hours I like stevens so far but they should change some ways. And so many people are failing there driving test. And we spend a day driving around the dps road course. And brake test. I would say if you ain't got this buy now. Then your in the wrong industry.
I don't think some of theses guys think what can happen in one of theses trucks.
You think they would seeing that truck next to the drivers lounge every day.
But I'll stop venting about that.

I can't wait to start my otr training though. Hopefully should be the 23rd now I hope and pray. Bc my driving test is the 22nd.

Hope everyone stays safe and god bless

    Be patient grasshopper!
As he said...the school is to get you your CDL. You learn to drive when you head out with your O-1 trainer.
    Some learn faster than others.
As for the number of persons at DPS? It varies. Right now, apparently, the numbers are large, but they wane just like the tide going in and out.
You'll be out there with your trainer soon enough.
    Be patient.
And keep us posted as to your progress.

And you will be one of the 3 or 4 from your class that actually make it in this industry...as long as you keep applying yourself. Out of the 52 people that started in my class, there are 5 of us left. 3 went home for medical reasons, 1 failed his 2nd drug test (#######.) The rest washed out somewhere between OR1 and grad fleet. From my class alone, you can see that 1 out of 10 people (or 10%) actually make it. Now obviously those numbers fluctuate, but it gives you a little perspective nonetheless.

People really aren't lying when they say that this industry isn't for everyone.

    123456 and maxwelltie Thank this.
