I guess so, Dryver, as I am a pretty good salesman and make as much if not more than I did driving a Truck for Stevens with Alliance. And I was a good Driver, no accidents ( except for scraping my bumper on a pole at a shipper in Salinas, Ca- tight place) and was NEVER late.
But you are right, the mind games at dealerships suck. It's not the customers that make this business have such a high turnover rate, it's the management ( could we say the same for Trucking??Hmmm...).
I just miss the road, strange isn't it? I guess the diesel got into my blood.

Hey they are just ageing the beef more. Not like the stores need your late load either.

Well setting at whole foods being unloaded. Got to enjoy how stevens allows whole foods to push them around. QC says appt is 0300. Oh but that is not the appt time that is a place holder number. Whole foods does not set the actual appt until the day before delivery. Makes trip planning for on time delivery impossible. So I am 2 1/2 hours late due to lack of manegement, communication, and understanding what putting false information in the load assignement does to a driver.

I have brought my thoughts on this to the VP of operations.

Just goes to show that in this World, Common Sense is not very common. They might listen to you, they may not. Which do you think?:biggrin_2559:

My dealings with smokey have always been positive. He listens, and does not make any quick false promises. He did say I have a very valid point and he will look into it. The only change I see coming is the 0300 appt will be changed to 2330 the night before.

after getting empty at whole foods, was sent a load assignment, to pick up at smithfield, a block away... but there is no times, and no pick up number, and the night crew was of little help. so at least I had a place to park, and went to sleep... at 8am I am informed that stevens was waiting on smithfield for the days shuttle runs, and I would be dispatched as soon as he got the information...
Had a decent lunch at the deli next door...
3pm, and still no load... so I call the dispatcher again... he says he was informed that stevens is now the back up carrier, and that they had no loads for us today... but he had already informed steve of the problem, and he was transferring me over...

So I get a shuttle run again, from Carlisle pa to Burlington nj, pick up thursday afternoon, and deliver friday morning...a whopping 257 total paid miles, but all with fuel surcharge... and then I got to choose my next load from three choices, 2 candy loads going to texas, or a frozen load picking up just a short 30 miles away from the delivery, and goes to ontario CA... 2700 miles... I took the cally load... A few days of peace and quite will do this driver some good.
