I hear since elogs jct. Isn't what it used to be, if your already broke why would you quit one lease to do another?

Because the lease terms are different. JCT's l/p plan is set up differently that Stevens. I have the knowledge as to why Alliance did not work for me, but I will not share in this thread because people tend to get all butthurt over the smallest things. I will say that the biggest motivator for me it the immediate .05cpm raise I am getting along with no nickel and diming for every nut and bolt on the truck.

I have also heard that JCT is having some issues transitioning to elogs, but find me a company like JCT who wouldn't have problems. You have a relatively small company where the majority of their drivers were used to one way of running. All of the sudden, they had to invent a completely new way of running because of elogs. It is a classic case of being unable to teach old dogs new tricks. A lot of their old drivers left because they couldn't make the transition to elogs...or at least that's what I read. I have been on elogs for a number of months, so I am used to them. Also, JCT's trucks are governed at 72 as opposed to Steven's 62, so that just means more miles and more revenue for me. I have never been one to play the log book game, so I have nothing to worry about.

JCT is but one of the tens of thousands of trucking companies out there, but they aren't a Swift, Prime, Werner or Stevens. I like to think of them as an intermediate company...not a training company, but not the cream of the crop top end company either. I will, however, let you know how I am fairing nonetheless.

There is something to be said for working for a company that trusts you know the job and can do it without baby sitting your life. Stevens is what it is, a training company, a very good one too, but they don't trust you to pee straight without their help. The thought of a driver being on time, safe, efficient & responsible time after time is alien to them.

Good luck at JCT flight. I hope they are a better fit for you.

Negative weeks happen to all owner operators. You want a weekly pay check then be an employee.

Taking time off will always cause a negative week unless you set money aside to cover the business expense and your personal expenses.

    Dryver is correct.

And the squeeky wheel gets the attention at stevens.
I have been sqeeking a lot lately.

Wake up this morning to do this shuttle run and have a message from steve, found a more productive load for you.
So instead of delivery at 10am then waiting until 6pm for a live load which kills friday I now have a drop and hook both ends lancaster to ogden. 2100 miles and will deliver monday weather permitting. Have until tuesday night.

So I give up 600 miles but gain 3 days, so it is a much better use of my time.

i left there $18000. in debt.but the good news is they didn't report to credit reporting or anything.the most important thing to making money there is the 5 minute stampede to pick out your truck.
