Thats the way that I was. I hated to leave and I do miss it but Im glad that I left. Bittersweet I guess.

Lucky for me I live in Ft. Worth so my wife met me the night before and we unloaded everything out of the truck. I was practically empty when I hit the yard.

Got a couple of friends that were driving as a team and now are on the yard now as they are going to the tanker division. If you see a couple, he is a skinny cowboy looking guy with glasses and she is a skinny blonde tell them Chuck said hello! They will probably be in the smokers lounge yapping with anyone that will listen. :D

Best of luck and keep in touch!

I was one of those guys.My first trainer got a look at my driving and shifting and probably said the same thing.Dont know how I passed the test.Four years later, here I am one of the top trucks on this fleet.600000 miles under my belt,no accidents, training for the last two and a half.Check your ego,and hope that truck in front of the drivers lounge in the future is not a truck driven by you.

Yeah, I couldn't back for squat. Failed backing test going into grad. I blame my trainers because I told them both that was my weakness and neither would let me back. During the 8 weeks, I bet I only backed 3 times. I didn't even bump the ne dock like I was supposed to. But I should had been more pro active so I am to blame as well.

But I did fine once I got out by myself. I only had problems once, in Bethlehem, PA. Took me 30 mins to get in, but I did it!! The yard dog couldn't even get in next to me until I git a green light and moved.

I paralleled in a rest area once. Put it right in the first time like a pro. Another driver stopped next to me smiling and gave me thumbs up! I had a big head for the rest if the day. :D

Yeah, me too. I couldn't back when I first started either. Took me 6 months until I wasn't dreading a p/u or drop when I would have to back with others watching. Now I get into places I wouldn't of dreamed of then. Frog and Chuck know the Bass performance hall in FTW. Check out their dock setup sometime. And don't get me started on the theaters in the NE. Rooster, check out the Hobby theater and let me know how you like the blind side back off the street into another blind side into the dock. Now that's fun!

I'm the exact opposite. I was great at backing during training, but now I have a hard time at it. I guess I lost my nerve:biggrin_2552:

Did my first backing like a pro. No pull ups. Trailers on every side of me. Put it right in the hole son

Well I got signed out this morning. It went smoothly, except Bonnie really tried to get me to stay. She First offered to rewrite my contract, and when I refused, she offered to give me a .03cpm raise whether I stayed Alliance or went company. I guess she was just doing her job. Oh well...now to rest and relax before I start off on my new journey.

Rooster: There are going to be times that you put it in the hole on the First shot. There are going to be other times where you can't back to save your life. There are going to be many times that are somewhere inbetween. It's not a contest, and as long as you don't back into anybodies brand new condo cruiser, you are doing alright.
