JCT is not a training company and comparing the two on hotel accomdations is comparing fruit to vegetables.

Nascar I am sure you got good offers when you left. Stevens does have a good reputation for training.

    What's up guys
I've been getting some good runs lately. I went from Kansas down to plant city ,fl with a meat load which had a stop in birmingham,al. And then grabbed a juice load from lake wells,fl heading to Tracy,ca which is 2,771. So enjoying my time at Stevens so far. Just hope it stays the same way when I get out in my dumb and dumber and when I get on grad fleet.

A lease program is a lease program is a lease program. I don't care what the truck looks like or how you spell the name on the door.....
Looking back at previous posts it looks like Flight had a series of unfortunate events and miscommunications. The chances for those same events do not decrease unless the driver learns from mistakes etc.... and corrects them. Correction does not come from digging a hole and walking away. I don't care who gets mad or bashes me for this comment. It is what it is, then there is personal responsibility for your actions. To act like JCT is the answer to Stevens supposed trespasses against you is pretty silly. You left Stevens for Stevens Jr. Same obligations, same everything...... if a driver doesn't learn and change then everything stays the same, and with the "Stevens done me wrong song" continuously playing....... no changes. I don't feel like anything has been taken from me by anyone leaving, im not mad, don't too much care really. Every piece of advice here has been countered with an immediate rebuttle, and i have to point out those rebuttles are coming from inexperienced drivers. Giving seasoned advice here is much like training a "know it all" student that has no respect for due process or another drivers house. Do what you will, but know some one said " its all the same unless you've changed something".

Saying that every lease program is the same is like saying every trucking company is the same, and that's silly. Sure the bare bone basics are mostly the same, but there are major differences to each and every one. I have listed the differences that I know of already, so I won't repeat myself.

My series of unfortunate events and miscommunication is an understatement. I'm came out of the gate trying to climb an icy mountain with bald tires. To recap:
    -November: Hit a deer
-Beginning of December: CRST takes the front end of my truck off
-Middle of December: 145 gallons of fuel siphoned out of the loaner truck I was using.
-January was spent trying to catch up from December.
    -February: dropped trailer door.
-March: Truck backs into me at t/s.

Stevens did try to help me through January, but they also told me that they would stop my truck payments for the month of December...which they did, but charged them all back to me in January along with the normal January payments. "Correction doesn't come from digging a hole and walking away." How big does the hole have to get before it starts caving in on you? Until you can't see the sun anymore. In your opinion, how long should I have continued on with Stevens? Until I lost everything? I'm sorry but I'm not a masochist, and I certainly don't want to lose my family.

I have never said that Steven's did me wrong. I have also repeatedly said that I will not trash talk Stevens. So you coming on here and accusing me of playing the "Stevens done me wrong song" is ridiculous. Now I could go into the "Bad trucking company" section and post a page long rant about Steven's, blame the company, and take no personal responsibility for what happened, but I'm not like that...as much as some of you would like me to be that way.

JCT is the answer to Stevens suspected trespass: It's easy to stand by the fence and pick apart another persons decisions, but unless you walk in my shoes, you have no right to judge the decisions that I make. Perhaps you are ok with not making money, using years worth of savings trying to stay afloat, and being on the verge of losing your family...all for a company, but I'm not. Nowhere have I stated that JCT is better than Stevens. How would I know? I haven't even started working for them yet. On paper, they seem like a better option FOR ME, but only time will tell.

I will rebut someones advice if the logic behind that advice is flawed. Too many people are too quick to take cb talk as fact. Also, the advice offered might be sound to you, but cannot or will not work with somebody else. Regarding inexperience: I don't care if you have 2 months or 20 years holding a steering wheel. Most of this stuff is common sense...something that no amount of experience will help you with. I might have less than a year in, but that doesn't mean that I don't have the knowledge, ability, or common sense to make decisions that affect my family. Example:
-Where experience plays a role: I have to get to NYC from Albuquerque. Which way should I go?
-Where experience doesn't mean squat: I have received multiple negative paychecks and I can't feed my family. What should I do?
I'm sorry if you feel that us "inexperienced drivers" have somehow pissed in your cheerios. If you want me to take all of your advice, give me your address so I can send my bills to you.

You may not be mad, but you are certainly throwing out baseless accusations and putting words in my mouth. I actually did respect you and your opinion, but that is gone now.

There is a lot of argument regarding leases, when deciding between company or lease it simply comes down to which one will make you the most money given your business savvy, work ethics and personal financial situation.

Companies tend to push all new recruits to leasing and some couldn't balance a check book or know what Profit/loss or Operating Expenses are, hence the huge failure rate in leases.

Flight I hope you have learned from the events at stevens. Getting into multipule accidents in a truck stop/ service plaza is a sign of where you are parking. Experience will come where you park in safe locations and plan your trip to where you can avoid The edge parking.

I sure do hope you investigated the differences between the leases thourghly.

Getting back on the truck in the AM. Went to load it today, have a pre plan. I have to deadhead 370 miles through cascade locks, cabbage hill, 3 mile hill, not to happy about that plan. I will do it but the winds and weather can get crazy a long the river here in Oregon, I have lived here my whole life and have seen countless accidents in the area. The thought of not having any weight in the box is unnerving to this new driver.
Talked to dispatch, they said sorry only load in all of OREGON, hmmmm. Oh well ill drive it as long as its safe. Also load pics up at 1800n tomorrow night, not a big deal, just hope they load me fast so I dont run out of hours before I can make it to the truck stop.
SO READY FOR SUMMER, THINKING ABOUT ADVERSE WEATHER AL THE TIME IS BALDING ME!!. Be well, thanks for listening, Shifty!!

There is logic behind it, its just not what you want to hear. Too, if i were about to lose my family..... i think i would find a local or company gig. Why gamble your family on another OTR lease? That really seems like the logical thing to do. Good luck.

I'm done defending my decision. If all you want to do is be negative towards me, then just put me on ignore and move on.
