Well this is turning out to be an interesting trip.
Left San Diego friday afternoon and made it to Boron. Thought my 14 had run out.
Darn time zones. My fault. Could have run 2.5 more hours which would have gotten me to Big Pine...another 140 miles.
Started out yesterday and ran my legs off...638 miles all on US highways.
Ended up shutting down in Rome, OR...130 miles from the receiver.
Now had I not screwed up, could have gone home for the night.
Left Rome at 0500 and while driving down the road, noticed my lower marker lights at the rear on both sides were not on.
Stopped and found out they were missing! Along with the ABS light.
Now I learned a lesson here. I always check my lights, but I'm looking for burned out lights....not missing ones!
Some one actually stole all three lights. go figure!
Made it to the receiver at 0730 in Ontario.
My appt is 1400, then reload at 2200 same place.
Maybe I'll get lucking and get done early and back on the road.
    Nope!
Some one screwed up. Don't know if it's Stevens or Americold, but they have me scheduled to deliver TOMORROW at 1400, but load tonight at 2200.
Nice trick if you can pull it off.
Now parked at the Pilot. Was going to go up to the J in Caldwell and meet my wife so we can head over to our daughters for dinner.
Dispatch tells me, "If you move the truck...and you can if you want, no detention since you aren't there ready to unload."
So my wife is driving the extra 35 miles here to pick me up.
Americold is closed from 1400 today until 2000. No chance they can work me in, so detention pay...here I come.
Dispatch confirmed my appt should be today.
Meantime, I installed new marker lights and all is right with the world.
So much for a quick turn around and getting this next load scanned into this week.
    Oh, well. so goes trucking.

We have picked up 3 trailers at Alvarez in Laredo with those lights missing. The new LED ones. Usually they only take the 2 markers, costs over $100 to replace IF the TA has them in stock!! We also picked up a brand new 11000 series trailer there, only been on the road 3 months according to inspection stickers, that had 2 bald tires. We've been told that they will even steal the 'grommets' from the air lines.

So far so good! They have done everything they said they would. I am at home now (under a load) to pick up my stuff and spend Easter with the fam. The load delivers tomorrow am in Orlando. So far, the difference between Stevens and JCT is night and day. Without going into a lot of detail (not a recruiter,) JCT is very focused on the driver. From the time that it takes them to answer messages (under 5 minutes...always,) to the way they talk to you on the phone. It's refreshing to say the least.
