AHHHH feels like i had a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulders just now. I turned in my letter of resignation to my employer just now. I am heading to Dallas on the 20th for orientation on the 22nd with Stevens. Having obtained my CDL-A with my present company and training for 2 months with a trainer should make this a smoother transition then just going in with no knowledge or experience then some of these people. At least i hope so lol. Yes i know to take it in stride and keep my ears open. Any advice on what to expect? What should i pack? What not to pack? Tablet ok to bring or should i bring my Laptop? Thanks in advance too.

Same way here in denver. Many waiting to deliver and some waiting for dispatch.

My hazmat will get me moving as soon as I deliver in the am. So no meat patch on tuesday, but I deliver in the middle of nebraska on wed.

Hey Y'all... Ive been on here lurking for about the last week or so, reading all I could about Stevens. I just went online and completed my application. Im new to trucking, been a paramedic for the last 12 years... so we'll see where things go and how everything works out!

I dont have my CDL yet, I'm looking to do school through stevens as well. Thankfully texas and florida both are warm states.. the only thing im not looking forward to is snow... im not a cold weather person!

Pack as lightly as possible because there is not a lot of storage space, but you should plan on about 5-7 days of clothing and a jacket for cooler weather and when loading produce. You will definitely need a pair of shoes/boots with a distinct heel. You should brig some kind of rain gear, bedding (sheets & blanket or sleeping bag and a pillow), the Tablet should be OK, just make sure you have a case or something to protect the screen. You may want some 'coveralls' if you don't want your clothes all stained and grubby. And definitely a pair of work gloves. I know lists have been posted on here before, just not sure where. Your recruiter should be able to forward a list to your email.

This is NOT from Stevens so dont freak out lol. I was just wondering what you all think of this policy. Seems excessive to me.

I'm in Hesperia (again). Waiting to see what they want to do with this load.
Delivers to Ralphs (Compton) at 2100. I need a reset after this load. Can't run the next one until then. But it's tight, so if they don't have me drop this one or repower it, looks like the next leg will be late.
They're scratching their heads." how can you be out of hours? You should be good for 4 runs (at 1100 miles each)"
All I need is TLeas transporter for the last half of the fourth run.
We'll get the kinks worked out. I figure three runs, then a reset. Works into 7 days (maybe 8 if they don't schedule well) just fine.

I guess it ensures driver compliance...... But does seem a bit much.
