So much for the dedicated heinz fleet and giving it 2 more weeks.

If you told the desk jockies oh it is just another hour unpaid, what would their response be?

Funny thing is most loads are planned months in advance. Final details the week before shipping. So there is no reason to leave trucks setting with out a preplan.

But stevens style is reactionary and NOT proactive. Causes more work and is the only way a poor manager knows how to work. It gives the manager the impression he is in charge and he thinks he is accomplishing so much.

I always have great faith in things working out.
But then my old business partner use to say I was the Pollyanna of the group.
Sometimes I feel like that old cartoon of the buzzards hanging around..."Patience my ###...I'm going to kill something!"
But on a positive note, the CSR on the account QC'd me today wanting to know when I'll be on the yard so he can sit down and talk.
It's nearly time to hit the yard anyway.
But maybe not this next load.
Sitting here in Roseville waiting in the dock now four hours. They stillhaven't opened the doors.
These guys must have been trained at Ralphs!
I think I'll run out of hours before I can get to the pick up in Salinas!

Thinks work out for those willing to do the work.

The dispatch over the weekend shows just how little communication there is in dallas.

Takes the control away and the busy work of repowering loads. Would end stevens business model, so the humans have found ways to NOT make it work to protect their fifedom.

Key to the computer system dispatch also would require a change to practical miles so the computer knows how far the truck actually has to travel, so it can verify the hours available for the truck are enough to cover the load. But that would take money away from the second generation, so we won't see that needed change either.

Went into NYC 3 times, all to Hunts Point. As much as I hated it, twice was in and out on the weekend so it really wasnt that bad. The third time was out on Monday (if I remember right) and there was alot of traffic.

But I hated all of the NE mostly because of traffic, lack of showers and/or lack of places to sleep.

The only reason I turned down a job was they go into the NE. I will never go back to the NE in a truck again. But would love to go back and sight see in a car.

I did all my practice driving while in CDL school around Port Elizabeth and Newark Airport. So that should help me out when I start. Nothing like learning to shift on Route 1&9 in Newark. Tons of traffic.

    Funny you should ask!
Talked about the computer system with my DM today. His response?
"I've been told over and over...you aren't a load planner, you aren't a dispatcher, you aren't a CSR...you're a DM. Just do your job and leave the rest to the others!
So I just lay low now and field you guys complaints."

There is a lot of frustration around there now. And I agree...it's a real estate issue.
    But this too will pass.

Finished loading at Taylor Farms in Salinas. Will finish my break and head out tomorrow to Ft Worth..via San Diego.
Should hit LA traffic right about the end of rush hour.
