New drive tires with an aggressive tread pattern seriously sucks fuel. I know some O/Os that run straight groove trailer tires on one drive axle through the summer months for this reason.

When one goes from the bridgestone M720 with a rolling resistance of 109 to the XDNA2 with a rr of 145 fuel economy drops by 3 to 5 tenths. But the yard had no M720 available.
And the cummins does like a higher RPM than stevens preaches. Just wish they would program the sensor track correctly. -
My apologies for interrupting the Conversation, But I was looking into the Stevens School training but I found out Texas is changing the License law requirements........
Does anyone know How this affects out of state Non CDL people who want to go to stevens?
Heres what Texas DPS had to say:
Domicile Requirement for Texas Commercial Driver Licenses (CDLs)
Beginning May 7, 2012, you must prove that your domicile is in Texas in order to apply for an original Texas commercial driver license (CDL). A "domicile" is your true, fixed, and permanent home.
Proving Domicile
You must prove your Texas domicile by showing two acceptable documents that contain your name and proof of domicile.
If you are unable to provide two acceptable documents (for example, if you are living with someone but not listed on the lease), you may be eligible to complete a Texas Residency Affidavit.
Documents That Prove Domicile
These documents prove domicile for a CDL:
- Current deed, mortgage, monthly mortgage statement, mortgage payment booklet, or a residential rental/lease agreement
- Valid, unexpired Texas voter registration card
- Texas motor vehicle registration or title
- Texas boat registration or title
- Texas concealed handgun license
- Utility statement (including electric, water, natural gas, satellite TV, cable TV, or non-cellular phone bill) dated within 90 days of the date of application
- Selective Service card
- Medical or health card
- Current homeowner's or renter's insurance policy or homeowner's or renter's insurance statement
- Current automobile insurance policy or an automobile insurance statement
- Texas high school, college, or university report card or transcript for the current school year
- W-2 or 1099 tax form from the current tax year
- Mail from financial institutions; including checking, savings, investment account, and credit card statements dated within 90 days of the date of application
- Mail from a federal, state, county, or city governmentagency dated within 90 days of the date of application
- Current automobile payment booklet
- Pre-printed paycheck or payment stub dated within 90 days of the date of application
- Current documents issued by the US military indicating residence address
- Document from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice indicating the applicant's recent release or parole
Address Confidentiality
The domicile requirement is waived for people who are authorized to use alternative addresses under the following circumstances:
- Those who are subject to the address confidentiality program administered by the Office of the Attorney General.
- Those who are judges or spouses of judges.

unless you are surrendering a valid, unexpired driver license from another state; then the 30 day requirement is waived.
And this is there for all the training schools who do train out of state students.
Then you will have to transfer the texas licence back to your own state -

Of course I find this out after I purchase a non refundable airline ticket and give notice at work...
I guess this is one of those "How bad do you want it" moments we go through from time to time...
