Well today brought a new adventure.
Headed out from Terre Haute early this AM. couldn't sleep.
When I got west of KC, I noticed they had all the cops out they could muster.
Just like that reader board says in New Mexico....Cops Everywhere!
I had my cruise set at 59 and I plodded along in the right lane, being passed by everyone, including an Amish buggy.
Well, maybe I'm exaggerating there a bit.
As I passed Ft Riley, I watched a patrol car come off the ramp in a big hurry, then come up behind me and lght up!
    I looked down at my speedo...it said 58...it's a 70 zone.
I couldn't figure out what I'd done wrong.
Just as I was about to touch my brakes, I watched a sedan drift off from behind me, to the shoulder. He couldn't have been a half carlength off my tail.
I didn't even know he was there.
Apparently he'd been drafting me and the patrolman pulled him over for tailgating.
    Phew!

So I am in Salina waiting for a repower that will take me to Springfield for a noon delivery tomorrow.
    Then?
    Quien Sabe!

We dont have cable/dish at the house but I like watching the food channel when I stay overnight in the motels. DD&D is a cool show.

My student grabbed some of that yuck at the fuel stop today, I just stared at him in disgust for a moment as I finished my chicken Caesar salad. Grocery stores are for food, fuel stops are for fuel...... And lot lizzards.

The lack of communication continues... where is started I do not know... but I am the mushroom..

DLD for this load was 2140 tonight... around 1800 my QC beeps with new appointment times for the drops...
drop 1 still Jacksonville 1300 Monday
Drop 2, still acradia, but 0700 tuesday.
Drop 3 still Orland, 0900 tuesday.... somebody still can not read a map...

Okay all fine, catch a nap, head over to National Beef at 2130, load is not ready, call traffic, oh the drop dead time is 0521 saturday....Load may be ready by then...

So I adjusted my sleep to run tonight, and now here I set, after 1000 miles I am getting a 34 hr reset... arguueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this week it looks like a prime/ trans am convention, with stevens having the 3rd most trucks here.

I don't know who is screwing these loads up, but they need to get their act together, as they are not keeping this driver moving, which means I am gonna go broke on the end of this lease.

Well, here it is...0330...old man wakes up...might as well run.
Deliver at noon in Springfield. No idea what I'm doing after that. At least my DM works until noon today, so I stand a chance of a load.
But if not, guess I'll head over to my brother for the weekend.
One good thing about coming from a larger family....lots of siblings all over the place...even tho we're all either on the lamm or in the witness protection program :biggrin_2556:

The adventure continues. Load comes ready at 7am so I pick it up and am now on breakdown. Somewhere somebody stole the small led marker lights and ABS light from this trailer.

The mud flap is dragging the ground and the skirt looks like an ocean wave.

    Who keeps feeding the gremlins?

Not really, the meat patch just sucks because the driver and carrier are at the mercy of the shipper..... Which we all know that meat plants get behind and reek havoc on everyone.
then you figure in planner error and its FUBAR from that point on.

my brother works for PUMPCO and says Stevens are running strong on their sites with the water trucks, and talk of the hauling the sand as well here pretty quick. So, I did some looking and I see 100 frac tanks on order..... Clay is a numbers guy and if he's ordering equipment, it will be used. He analyzes numbers and gets contracts before buying.
Steve may have been sitting in the BIG office but Clay has been the Wizzard in OZ for some time.....

I can guarantee you that trailer came out of Laredo. Virtually all the trailers going to Mex down there come back without fuel, marker lights.
Whoever pulled it from Laredo, never noticed the missing lights.
I've had two of those lately.
I simply go into the Truck stop and find the right lights and plug them back in. The jacks are just tucked into the hole.
That way I don't sit around waiting for RR to figure out what to do.

As for the skirt? We're going to see a lot more of that as these trailers age. They're low clearance and drag on speed bumps, driveway arches and curbs.
think that's bad? look at some of the trailers with the solid skirts that other companies are pulling...some of those look like they've been to a destruction derby!
