Well, I'm off to the last leg of this run to NY. In Ohio this morning.
    Sure enough...there won't be a repower coming.
Safety might become a bit twitched today since I'm so far over my limit.
Saturday, after delivering my repowered load into the caves in Springfield, my DM told me I was on Safety hold. Could only be dispatched on a load to the yard.
At 1300, after everyone went home....sure enough...dispatched on this Tyson load to NY.
"I gotta have you pick this up and get it rolling. It's tight! We'll repower you! I promise!"

    Good thing I don't care.

Sounds like yer gonna have to start carrying 2x4 blocks if you want to go vertical. It's been a while for me ... how much taller are they?

At stevens rules only apply when they are convient for them. Otherwise it is get that load that we did not dispatch correctly moving. Even though there were multipule empty trucks in the area.

I need to adopt the I don't care attitude.

Guy's I did adopt the I don't care attitude. About a month ago I was dispatched to the yard for my 90 day re-qualification, and after so much Bull Hockey I made a decision: I had to go. I gave away most of the things in my truck, and took only my clothes and got a bus ticket home. I just could not take it anymore...The good news is that I am starting a new job tomorrow with a local company as Safety Director. I came to Stevens with past driving experience and a certificate of training from the DOT Safety Directors training school. Stevens did not even count my past work and school experience. The last thing I wanted to do was quit, because I really wanted to work at Stevens Transport. But Stevens Transport did everything to run me away. I just could not take being treated like a child. After reflecting on my time at Stevens The only thing I got from Stevens was a cap and t-shirt for driver appreciation. Driver are the life's blood of a transport company, but I think that Stevens just don't care.

I've felt since Day 1 that the general attitude with management is, "There's always 2-3 warm bodies waiting to replace you if you decide to leave"

    TLeaHeart Thanks this.

I started running early today, to insure I'd get parking place here. Good thing too..this place is almost full at 4:30.
So got a call from DM...."Why are you in Ohio?"
"It's on the way to NY."
"When I left here on Saturday, you were in Springfield and suppose to be heading towards Dallas."
    "yea. Ya suppose?"
"How'd you get off safety hold."
"Apparently the meat dept has pull."
"Well I can't repower you. You'll have to deliver tomorrow."
    "I figured. That's why I'm already running."
"We'll get you a load back here right away."
"Make sure it has time on it. I'll have about 14 hours available at the end of today. I have two more gooseggs at the end of my recap, still."
    "Oh crap!"

yessiree bob! the fun never ends!

Remember "Safety is an attitude", their attitude is going to get them in a bind one day.
