I should be back on yard sometime today after I get the head back on this boat. If you're up for a boat trip I'll be heading to Hubbard for a quick spin.

Called KW and they confirmed the "clutch plates are warped due to overheating. Not warranty..we're compiling an estimate now to submit to Stevens."

    Quadruple yippee!

That's just cruel, LOL!! I had the clutch 'go out' on me when I was training. Had just left the yard with a delivery near Memphis, TN, got unloaded, left the receiver, and just as I'm getting ready to upshift to merge onto I-40...no clutch!! The truck had been serviced at a Petro just before going to the yard, and the clutch was adjusted. The 'mechanics' at Stevens thought it would be a good idea to 're-adjust' it, but they failed to tighten it back down!!

I would think a breakdown is a breakdown, warranty or not. If the truck won't go, you're brokedown and should be entitled to breakdown pay. H###, hitting a deer ain't a warranty issue, but you get put up in a hotel while the truck is being repaired and get breakdown pay, or lost wages pay or something.

Breakdown pays is for instances beyound your control. A clutch is always considered driver error, unless you can prove a defect. Being warped due to heat is going to make it very hard to prove the driver was not riding/slipping the clutch. There are companies that say, you are a contractor, sorry, but no pay, no breakdown pay, it is your problem. I am grateful stevens does offer breakdown pay to the lease operators

Just checking in guys. The new gig is going well. Its hard work, but well worth it because of the pay.1250 gross this week with three days off,and Im still in training. My body is slowly getting use to actually working again. The company actually goes out of their way to know who you are.It is a totally different atmosphere and a totally different job than Im use to.Me and the misses are getting use to actually being under each others feet more often.I actually get a chance to play some golf again. So far so good.Everybody be safe.

Ouch! I'm sure Stevens will atleast help with the associated costs. However, there are also costs with training.

Heya Froggie! Good to hear you're doing well. Sounds like a good move.

I'm playing the repower shuffle this week. Third repower since the weekend. sigh.
At least I get a full day off each load, and then some. Now I'm parked early and waiting for another repower.
Good freaking gravy what's going on in Dallas???

Day 2 of sitting at the shipper in Lodi, CA. Arrived yesterday around noon after delivery in Modesto. Received a QC from Produce that we won't be loaded til next day. We call to tell them we are headed to Flying J, what time should we be back. Told by Produce and shipper that 0800 would be fine. Got a late start this a.m., arrived at 0930 and we are told that they haven't even started packing for the day. It is now 1430 pacific time and we are still waiting. Why do these produce places keep selling product that they don't have and can't be sure that they are going to have????

Well, after 6 hrs of waiting, they decided to send us 20 miles south to their Stockton plant to load. Arrived at plant #2, and they said they would get to us sometime tonight. Got a strange feeling this load is going to be late.
