Emul, is the new guy Brett W??? If so, he was transitioning into the job in late January, early February. We talked with him extensively when we were fighting the overcharges on our LTI. He was very helpful. Sounds like he has some good ideas if he is given the freedom to go with it.

TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Hit a new personal best yesterday, Oklahoma City to Gallup: 670 miles in 10:59...
Weird that my GPS showed it as 677 miles but there are not too many parts of the country where you can make a run like that. My old best was 640...TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Now, if some of you didn't just read that and chuckle. It's funny, it's entertainment, it's also apparently the life link for some of you with no life. You're right though, it's no where near as interesting as "I drove over a mountain today, or this darn receiver, or I hate my company" all the same. -
I try and be optimistic as I complain.
sigh! -

now how is a solo driver with alliance to make any income with a fixed cost of $680 per week, with the pay being 85 cents per mile?
the insurance will be more expensive too, since the truck is worth more.
Just something to consider.
setting here in the dock door at wally world, with my consolidator load... should take about 4 hours.... then to where? No pre plan, not even a soft plan...May be a long weekend. -
Optimistic
As the buzzard said, patience my tail feathers, I gonna kill something. (modified to get past the language filter)Rattlebunny Thanks this. -

Finally got loaded and rolling in Cali!!! Got a call at 2230 Dallas time to go to a different shipper to pick up our load of cherries (3rd shipper), we would be loaded as soon as we got there. When we arrived we were told it would be a few hours, relayed that to the produce dept, produce made some calls and 15 min we were in a dock. Loaded in 45 min ready to roll. Oops, hold up, shipper didn't put air bags on the load!!! You will have to wait until a.m. to make sure the receiver is OK with that. QC this a.m., OK to roll without air bags. We ONLY had to wait 75 hours for them to get it all hashed out, and they are going to be oh so generous and pay us solo layover pay for 2 days. When is someone gonna realize that if they want us to run team miles they need to compensate layover pay, etc at a little better than solo. We lost over 3000 miles by sitting all that time.
DUJO Thanks this.
