We all been getting the Happy 4th messages on the electronic tether. I hope that we all pause and reflect on this 4th, as to why we have our freedoms, that we broke away from England due to the oppressive rule of England, and the constant raising of taxes. Stay safe, enjoy your day, have some fun, and strike up a conversation with a total stranger... then they are no longer a stranger.

Me I will be setting here, enjoying my $100 layover pay from JBS and go for a walk around this new england town.

I will now return to being a complaining truck driver. ;)

Well, I had originally planned to make it to Toledo for my break last night, but playing in Chicago traffic limited me to Fremont, IN. So my plan to camp out at the Vince Lombardi plaza, staging for my 0800 delivery was just a tad too far to make it today, so here I sit in Columbia NJ.
    60 miles to my delivery.
I'll tell you what, tho...the cops were everywhere! And they were working the construction sites hard. No workers there, but the reduced speed was being enforced. Ohio must have had 30 cars working the turnpike and PA was no slouch either.
NO...I didn't get nabbed. I was a good boy. But I saw several super truckers on the shoulder. :biggrin_2551:

And TL, you're right. We all have the right to complain because of what others fought for. Let's not forget it!

Now lastly, I wonder what they have planned for me to pick up for my next load. Since I'm suppose to be in Dallas thursday, I don't think there's anything that will work unless I haul rocket fuel!

Enjoyed my walk around town, what there is of it. And this little gem of a truck stop is so peaceful.

At 11:45 I got a phone call from Dispatch, had I made it to hocksett yet.... no, they are closed today, will be there when they open at 7am... okay I am pre planning you on the heinz load... again !!!!!!!! another shuttle run, thanks JBS.... oh and the planner set the pickup for 9am... not going to happen, and steve agreed, just get there as soon as I can... after I wash this bloody trailer out.

And my home made patch for the refer fuel tank is still holding, not a drop leaked out all day.... So I get to make a delivery, then go and wash the trailer out, pick up late, and then drive the 360 miles over to fogelsville for a friday morning appointment.... Now steve says to call him once I am loaded so he can back me up with another preplan onto a load picking up on friday. Will see what happens...

Just request the diliethum crystals to get you up to speed emulsified.

Made my delivery this morning in Paterson. Pulled around corner next to building that looked like it had been bombed out. One of the lumpers from the place I just unloaded came over and asked, "You have a gun in there?"
    "Nope"
"Then I wouldn't be hanging around this neighborhood if I were you."
So now I'm at the Vince Lomabardi burning up the clock for my 1400 pickup.

Ok now I found out that my medicine has to be picked up from walgreens because of the program I'm on. It pays for it. Now I know the truck can't fit in walgreens parking lot.

Now check this out: Say we at a truck stop cause we pulled in the city or town where we are delivering early and the load is due to deliver the next morning, I should be able to catch a cab to go the nearest walgreens to get it, right?

Or just say one of us is on a 34 hour reset. I should be able to do the same thing catch a cab and go pick it up

Well, only 1656 miles to go to Plainview TX.
    Wonder if they'll repower me.
Last time this happened, they asked me to 'run up the road real quick and pick up a load from JBS bound for Jersey. We'll repower you after you have it."
I ended up runnning TWO loads back and forth to Jersey that time before they got me back in.
    Quien sabe, eh?

Another safe area we deliver to. And stevens does not say a word to the driver. Been there and the hair on the back of my neck was standing up. I left quickly. But get a load to miami or cally and get a lecture about safety for the load. Shows where there priorities are.

The lack of communication in dallas is amazing. I renewed my CDL june 26 and emailed leslie the driver paperwork lady a copy. Today I get a phone call telling me to stop where I am at, that I must come to the yard, as my license is expiring. A NO my copy says expires 7/13/16. And leslie even called me and verified it with me. 2 hours later maybe they understand the black and white license the state of wy issues is valid until the date printed on the security paper. I will get my plastic one in 2 to 6 weeks. All depends on when the next print run is done.

I will know friday if a get the ogden run or a trip to dallas.

And they can't understand why I gave my 2 week notice.
