Glad they made you a good offer emu. Just don't adapt to the reactive attitude.
Now if they would let me run produce to target in cedar falls, and then cheese from Wisconsin back to cally every 10 days I would be happy, get to stop by the house for a 34 every 10 days and then would only need 4 days of each month to have fun. But they don't like drivers picking there own loads.
And it would be real easy to get me home, as a pass by the house with cheese, have the nabisco load repower the cheese, and I stay home. Same thing when I come off home time, there are always target loads running late.
Oh well. Won't happen as stevens refuses to think ahead and plan a route like that. Just like Emulsifieds west coasts turns. Did not last long.
And stevens did train me well. I have learned many things, but the training wheels never come off at stevens. I have grown as far as I can at stevens, as I have a totally opposite manegement style and can no longer keep running into the reactive brick wall. -
So how long have you guys and gals been working for Stevens?
-
I went to a school of my choice at home. Started the school the second week of january 2008. Started with stevens march 2008. Signed first lease july 2008, and second lease july 2010. So 4 years and 4 months.

Emul, It sucks your going to be off the road but we all the understand priorities of life, go look after the wife and stay in touch. The average age of Stevens drivers just dropped by 30 years.

Emulsified,
The road will definitely be quieter with you on the inside. I sincerely hope that you better half's health concerns are short lived and have a positive out come. Keep us updated on the goings on (obviously don't put your job in jeopardy) and let us know what it's like on the inside. Maybe you can spread a bit of understanding and be a sort of peace envoy between the drivers and the main office. Just a thought. Good luck, and maybe (if I ever get rehired at Stevens) I'll see you on the yard. -
I wish you all the best. As others have said, I hope things with your wife get better.

There is not a lot I can say at this moment, however, I had gone back to Dallas prepared to leave. I had cleaned out my truck except for basic essentials, all of which could fit in a duffle bag.
For the last year I had been working with a couple key persons developing a project, but figured it had died from lack of interest.
When I told them why I needed to leave, the troops rallied and it was enough to receive the blessing from upstairs.
So after I turn my truck in (probably monday), I will fly home, then drive everything to Dallas...oh yea...note to self..don't forget wife...and will begin.
It's an easy transistion since my wife and I have lived in a Motorhome since we sold out and retired the first time a few years back. -
Best of luck in your job change Emul. And let Mama know we are thinking about you both and praying for her.
-
Best of luck Emu and keep us posted. So I take it that you will be moving to Dallas? Culture shock!
TLH, best of luck to you as well. Make sure that you let us know where you end up.
